An excellent contemporary YA about two Pakistani teens growing up in a small Mojave town, both dealing with big issues around drugs, money, illness, and abuse. Very highly recommended.

Super powerful book. I loved the story and the writing and the way this just kept my attention from start to finish. Difficult book to read because of the content, but very worth it!
Thanks so much Joey!! I am looking forward to reading this one! 💜❤️💜
Just wow. This is a type of book I am sure will stay with me for a long time. An emotional journey for our two protagonists as they grow up and learn to move beyond the loneliness and abuse they have dealt with in life.
Audio-library book. Each voice overs for Noor and Sal did incredible. Thought I would cry from Noors outbursts. Both Pakistan teens have the roughest life I‘ve read in a while. Let alone it just kept getting worse; no break at all. Noor has so much deserved anger at the world inside. Liked how that was explained with her process of thought. Glad there was no fairytale ending. Felt so real; like it could be anyone.
God is like water
This was so so good! I‘ve read Tahirs fantasy stuff and loved it, and this one is just as well done!! Just read it 🤘🏽
Moved by the ending.
Love the following quotes from this book:
* God is like water, finding the unknowable path when we cannot.
*There is more to life than the things in front of you.
I‘ve been sick and done nothing but lay in bed for the last 2 days. This was an excellent distraction from the yuckiness that is Covid, even if the story had me in tears in more than one occasion
There is a clear reason why this book won the National Book Award and The Printz Award for Excellence. It might very well be the best Young Adult novel I have ever read. Sabaa Tahir takes a multi generational family story and brilliantly weaves together both the past and the present. This is a story of love, friendship, and ultimately of forgiveness.

𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐞 by 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐫, a bonus selection in the annual 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, is a contemporary YA novel about family, forgiveness, love & loss across generations & a National Book Award & Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature winner. The story about young people finding their place in the world sounds intriguting.
Although this author writes YA it doesn't read that way. I'm not sure what I was expecting with this one but the book ended up being so much more than I counted on. Noor and Sal are complex characters and the culture clash they experience is eye opening and heartbreaking. This is one that should be read by everyone. It's made my keeper bookcase.
So far this YA novel that focuses on two Pakistani teens feels more like an adult novel and I am hooked.
This is a book about two Pakistani kids growing up in the States and trying to survive. Noor and Sal are ex-friends who are brought back together after Sal's mother dies and Sal is willing to do anything to keep the family business going. Noor just wants to escape to college.

I can now understand completely why this book has received so much praise; it is one of the best YA books I've ever read.
Going in I wasn't quite sure what the book was about, and I avoided even reading the synopsis. This story of friendship and growing up is beautiful, heartbreaking, and hopeful. It made me angry, it made me laugh, and it made me tear up several times.
It's a wonderful book and I highly recommend it.
This was wonderful. I loved the main characters, there are many hard topics addressed, but it is done in a conscious and natural way.
My one dislike was the flashbacks to Sal's mom's past. I didn't like being taken out of the current story, but I appreciate in doing so we are given a deeper history.
There is something so special about reading a new book and having an older favorite book mentioned, especially when that older book isn't considered a classic. ❤️
This is a compelling well-written novel that I inhaled. A major theme to me is you never truly know what's happening inside someone else's four walls. We constantly make assumptions about why humans behave and make the choices they do with incomplete information. Highly recommend to high school students or anyone who enjoys YA novels.
Absolutely stunning. I know I‘m late to the game on this one, but it is so worthy of every bit of of praise and accolade.
Also, I‘m aware my dumb bag of chai is swill compared to what they truly make in this book, but I found myself captivated by the food and drink throughout the whole thing. So I had to make do with what I had on hand.
Written for readers who enjoy having their heart squeezed by the giant hand of bleak experiences. And there‘s a playlist!

This review is written by 15 year old Trish, who absolutely loved it and thinks Noor and Misbah are great female characters. Despite the crap they had to deal with.
Adult Trish would like to say these teenagers made some bad decisions and is that really the appropriate ending!
Overall, a good read 😁 with some great music.

Enjoying the book so far.
I mostly enjoyed this YA story about two Muslim HS students living in California. The book started out very strong but towards the end it petered out a bit. Teens Noor & Salahudin are childhood friends but now they are on the outs until a tragedy brings them back together only leading to new trouble. Audio narration was excellent. #52Books23 #OneOfTheSevenDeadlySins would work for other prompts as well 😍#Booked2023 #QuietYA
As I‘m waiting for my pre-order to drop I started this audio and it‘s FANTASTIC!!!! #QuietYA #Booked2023 #52Books23 #FeaturingOneOfTheSevenDeadlySins
There‘s a lot going on in this YA book. It‘s engaging, plot twists and turns, likeable characters who make some mistakes, and mostly believable reactions. There‘s a few flaws, but my teenage daughter would love this book, she would see strong female characters, and that‘s what makes this book receive a good recommendation.
All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir is a beautiful and meaningful story about Salahudin and Noor. They are young high school students who are facing unthinkable circumstances. Though they often make the wrong choices, they must always deal with the consequences. They are sympathetic characters who captured my heart & had me rooting for them. This is a novel that teaches empathy & understanding with being a bit difficult to read at first but well worth it.
@ShelleyBooksie here is my "Santa" book haul, that is all the books I've been gifted/won in the last two weeks.
My current read. I am starting to read the 22 books for my Spring MLIS class. Trying to get ahead before the semester begins.
One of the best books of 2022! Great YA realistic fiction from a queen of YA fantasy! Sabaa Tahir had me rooting for her teenage characters even while they made huge mistakes. She captures emotion and difficult situations (loving someone w/addiction, past trauma shaping lives, racism) with honesty, compassion. Her biography at the end shows how much of herself she put into her two MCs. 💗
This book is worth all the accolades it has received! Very realistic and sympathetic characters. For those who read middle grade fiction, this is a more mature read alike to Front Desk by Kelly Yang.
I absolutely did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I loved it! It was absolutely heartbreaking at times and I fought myself on the verge of tears several times. This books was beautiful. I‘m so glad I read it!
This was perfection. Cried at least three times and have completely fallen in love with this book! Tahir has such a great grasp on the impacts of trauma and her storytelling is impeccable. Can't wait to see what she writes next.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
CONGRATULATIONS TO SABAA TAHIR!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Her marvelous book, All My Rage, has won the 2022 National Book Award (YA category)!!! It's so very exciting! 💕📚💕📚💕📚💕
This was riveting. I was certainly enraged by all the injustices and sorrows Salahudin, Noor, and Misbah experienced, and I loved that the storyline didn't follow the path I expected. Definitely worth a read. #yalit
#IndelibleMoments Day 15: The long list for the 2022 National Book #Award for Young People‘s literature has just been announced: https://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/story/longlist-for-the-2022-national-book-a... - read the tagged book as part of our book club read this summer.
I loved this book. It felt like Tahir was getting into the the rhythm of her writing in the first few chapters ( maybe I was trying to get the hang of her writing 🤔)… but once it clicked, the novel was flawless. The story is mainly about Misbah, Salahudin, and Noor. From Pakistan, Misbah moves to America as a young bride. Soon she gives birth to her son Salahudin, and their lives cross paths with Noor. Several harsh themes, but simply beautiful.
I‘m not sure if I‘m mentally prepared for this one, but here we go 💪🏼
A beautiful read with memorable characters that will leave me thinking about them for days. This book deals with grief, friendship, alcoholism, abuse and even love. All my rage deals with more issues but it is so hard to name them all. Great job Sabaa Tahir with writing this story!!! A+
I want to rave about this book but where to start?! It's heartbreaking and beautiful. With raw, authentic storytelling this book deals with a lot of trauma (illness, death, addiction, abuse, bullying, racism) but allows room for love and hope. Sabaa Tahir uses alternating POVs of Misnah (then), Noor and Salahudin (now) and layers of place, food, and music woven around the characters and their stories. Very well done. This is YA at its best.
I'm in a slump and I hate it.
Not just reading but also crocheting and playing the kalimba—2 other things I like doing in my free time. Over the past 2 weeks, I've started 2 books but haven't gotten past 50 pages with each.
Regardless, I still visit the bookstore every week and today I got new books!
#BookMoods Day 17: I love how this book is so #MusicRelated, there is even a Spotify playlist made to put together all songs referenced in this riveting young adult novel which I have just finished reading for my book club here in the UAE.
Sabaa Tahir's Ember in the Ashes series is one of my favorites, so I was eager to read her next novel and more so intrigued that the genre was Contemporary. She made the transition of genres flawlessly. The characters and teens were incredibly raw and authentic to me. Their experiences were gritty and messy. The prose inserted throughout was stunning and I was on an emotional rollercoaster the entire time.
