I was really excited to receive a copy of 𝐀 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 by 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥, courtesy of Bibliolifestyle & William Morrow Books because the story of the famous rivalry between Elizabeth Arden & Helena Rubinstein sounds riveting! I can't wait to immerse myself in this book to learn more about the two creative, ambitious, & tenacious icons. The book was published 𝘚𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝟻, 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟹.

Bklover I remember Arden far more clearly than Rubenstein, but I do recall the name. Sounds good-enjoy! 1w

Leaves are beginning to fall & evenings are cooler. Here in Lodi, the signs of a “picture perfect autumn“ include vineyards being harvested & the scent of grapes fermenting at local wineries on the breeze.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 by 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐧 is clever & inventive. Harriet is introduced to her fiancee's family. His father is downright 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳. She takes readers on her journey to the truth -- a wild ride, set in the family's gothic, remote castle, complete with a terrifying maze & well. All is not as it seems! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I put it in the photo--though it has nothing to do with the story or Scotland--in solidarity with the wonderful people of Lahaina. I love an engrossing family drama. Bibliolifestyle & Avon Books generously provided me a copy of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬, 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞's debut novel. I'm anxious to soak up some sun by the pool while I immerse myself in the struggles & journeys of the 3 daughters upon whom the story is focused. What will they learn? And what will 𝘐 learn by reading about their experiences? Stay tuned for my review.

𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 by 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 is eloquent & impeccably crafted. A young woman is utterly lost but lacks the self-awareness & life skills required to get her life on track. She constructs a fantasy, determined to make it real. Cline never reveals how her perception of reality became so skewed, her decisions so poor. A sad tale with an ending that leaves readers wondering just what the point of the story is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖𝓥𝓪𝓬𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓡𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰🌊

I discovered the writing of 𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐬𝐨𝐧 throough her blog, Lynn's Weigh (2005-2015). Now she has penned a memoir, 𝐀𝐧 𝐎𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟: 𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞. I anticipate that, like her prior writing about weight, her words will be unflinchingly honest, poignant, & contain valuable lessons for all readers.

🌴𝙑𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜🐦‍⬛⁣

I had some company this evening while relaxing on the lanai, reading 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁 by 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗰𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗻. Sometimes, little birds literally land on my plate & start pecking at crumbs from toast or a bagel, or bits of rice left over from loco moco or sushi.⁣

I was immediately pulled into this book, so I'll be here reading & savoring the soft breezes for a bit. 🌺🌊⁣

Yesterday's 5-hour flight was an opportunity for uninterrupted reading! I'm enjoying the 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 readalong of 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗕 by 𝗟𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 & his brother, 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱. It‘s the latest installment in the Jack Reacher series.⁣

Oh, how I'm missed quiet evenings on the patio, enjoying soft breezes & reading. I'm participating in the 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠. Hazel Fine competes in an American Idol-esque reality show, so there are many references to music.⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥, 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨? 𝘪𝘧 𝘴𝘰, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥?

📬 𝔹𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝕄𝕒𝕚𝕝 📖

Do you like to read a book before watching the movie adaptation? Are you a Benedict Cumberbatch fan?

If so, you'll want to read 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝗪𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 by 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫, based on a true story. My answer to both is “yes“ & thanks to @BlackstonePublishing & @Bibliolifestyle I am going to read the book before the upcoming film is released. Originally published in 1983, it was re-released on April 18, 2023.
