My son and I are starting Goosebumps now, which Im enjoying so far more than other stuff we‘ve been reading. I haven‘t read this probably since I was in junior high, so it was fun revisiting. So many times he was like “no! You can‘t stop there! One more chapter!”

"You can't kill me! I have POWERS!"
?? this tickled me. The twins were at each other's throats almost the entirety of this book and at least they saved their dog.

Took the toddler out today to pick up the final items for the #HauntedHollowSwap and #PoutinePenPals Thanksgiving swap and went to play with the Halloween animatronics for fun. Thought this creepy ass doll would scare him (yes I'm an ass like that 🤣) but the little terror giggled, grabbed and carried her through the rest of the store. Of course she came home with us!

#EmbraceYourCreepySide #CreepyDolls #WeirdKidsAreGreat

FantasyChick For context; she plays terrifying music and alternates "Come play with me" "You dropped me on the floor and I broke. Now I'm angry" "I'm watching you" and something else I can't remember. I'm unsettled but he gets a new doll ? 3y
AkashaVampie Ur little one sounds like mine. He love anything scary, but if he sees a bug he freaks. I find it funny! 3y
FantasyChick Hahaha @AkashaVampie that's awesome! I think it's fantastic to have a love for the weird and scary so if he's into it...embrace it! My guy's just over a year old so I don't know how long it will last but I'm pretty big on the horror here so I'm hoping he will be my scary little buddy for a long time to come 🥰 3y
AkashaVampie @FantasyChick my little guy just turned 4 back in July. He is just so funny. He loves freaky things but yells for me to turn of the movie Hocus Pocus becuz he thinks it too scary! haha. Hes my little weird monkey. 3y
AkashaVampie @FantasyChick as to what freaky things.... google SCP-096. He loves this guy! haha 3y

Ventriloquist dummies and sibling rivalry and ventriloquist dummies (again) — oh my! 😱 On today‘s new episode of my podcast, I share about my second-EVER experience reading a book from the beloved Goosebumps series. This time, it‘s the iconic seventh book in the series, Night of the Living Dummy. My guest and i discuss our feelings about ventriloquism, the horror genre, and more! 👻 Link to listen in my bio!

This is the first Goosebumps title I‘ve ever read. I should have tried these when I was a kid! Ventriloquist dummies are kinda creepy in nature, so it makes sense to base a book or two on the concept. The book was just a bit creepy, but more than anything it was fun! I get why this is among the most popular in the series. The narrator did a great job with her audiobook performance. I‘ll definitely be reading and listening to more of these. 36 pts

Finished book 1 for #24b4Monday - started my morning with audio instead of podcasts

So far have read 1:50:13 today.

This book was creepy! Dummy‘s are the worst! Especially after seeing the Goosebumps movies with evil dummies!

My kid has spent the last hour in my bed listening to a Goosebumps book on audio. I‘m fully aware that I have no one to blame but myself, since he‘s been watching me with audiobooks for years.

I told him he has to still read paper books, too, just like I do, but Epic! is one of the more awesome apps out there for kids! 😃

Peddler410 Epic! is cool! My daughter used it a little when she was younger. I recently ended our subscription as she is becoming an avid reader and prefers physical books. 5y

Peddler410 As for audio .... I was reading Aru Shah to her and then got the audio from Audible. I loved the audio for pronunciations; my daughter liked when I read better — said my pacing and enthusiasm were better. Win for me, I guess. 5y

Tomorrow through #Halloween, I‘m putting the pause on my other audiobook to listen to this classic on my commute. Haven‘t read it since I was in single digits some 20-odd years ago and it terrified me so badly, I buried it in my closet until I was able to donate it to my local library. Now, I consume scary movies, TV, and books like it‘s my job. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂🎃👻 Happy Halloweek!

Melismatic Just about a quarter left - the finale saved for #Halloween! 👻 Gosh, I forgot how much of a jerk Lindy is! 😂 5y

Ended up reading this 90s trip of a book. I never read these when I was young because I am a big baby but it was another good middle grade creepy quick read to make you NOT ready for bed. 💀🔪 #NightOfTheLivingDummy #RLStine

I read this one forever ago, but didn't remember any of it. Now I remember why I hate Slappy so much.

Odd fact: growing up I had the head of a dummy in my tot box at my grandmother's house. I dont remember why, but pure nightmare fuel. 😂

I decided to listen to the audiobook of a Goosebumps book I had first read about twenty years ago! Although I wasn‘t as frightened by it as I was when I was eight, it still felt eerie and frightening in places. One part I didn‘t enjoy as much were the two main characters. It‘s been so long since the last time I read a Goosebumps book, I‘d forgotten how obnoxious some of the protagonists can be. #afraid #blackcatchallenge @Clwojick

#7 "He walks. He stalks..."
Kris and Lindy are twin sisters. But when Lindy finds a ventriloquist dummy and names it Slappy, she starts getting all the attention. It's when Kris gets her own dummy to show up her sister that things get weird. Dummies aren't real... are they?
#GoosebumpsChallenge

mydearwatson I liked this post, but let me be clear...I hate this cover! It‘s scariness is only second to the second one. (edited) 6y
BeansPage @mydearwatson haha you should have read the book. Totally creepy I loved it! 6y
mydearwatson Oh, I did back in the day. I read the second one first. The second one is basically responsible for why I generally avoid movies with living dolls. 6y

I've been reading through the #Goosebumps books by #RLStine as I've been collecting them. They were a huge part of my childhood & the main reason I became fascinated with horror & thriller novels. They're cheesy, but heartwarmingly nostalgic.

Dolls & dummies creep me the heck out, so this title definitely had its share of ickyness for me, haha. This is the 7th book in the series & so far it has horror down the best!

I know I'm a little late for all the bookmark fun but I had to post my fave bookmark. Working at a used bookstore means finding lots of great bookmarks like this gem! Make sure though that you check your books before you sell them. I've found lots of lost family photos 😕
