An afternoon pick-me-up to go with book 4 for #24b4Monday.
Meh. The story was entertaining, but there were few surprises; I anticipated most of the major events and twists. I writing was okay. The characters were not as well developed as I would have liked. It was an easy read though, and I got through it quickly once I was dedicated to finishing it.

Book-Club-Mas Day 1:
A Certain Age
Im so excited for this!
Also please ignore the ferret food all over the floor! Amelia was throwing her food at me while i was taking the pic! 🐾
This is my second book by Beatriz Williams, and I believe I will go on to read more of her work. While I did not like this one as well as Summer Wives, I did enjoy the story and watching the mystery unfold. At times I found the character of Theresa Marshall a little too campy, but it did not distract too much. What I really like about this author is that she is a good writer. The words flow and are pleasing, and she uses elevated vocabulary.
Meh. Annoyed with the way it was written and how it ended.
Due to clustered migraines over the weekend, I put Crimson Tide and White Petal on hold and started this for light reading today.
The beautiful socialite, Theresa Marshall had plenty of #diamondsandpearls 💎 💍
Hours away from seeing Beatriz Williams 💚💚
Well, I don‘t even know where to begin. I‘m not sure this one did much for me. The font used in the journalistic sections was very difficult for me to read. The device of skipping back and forth in time felt forced. All of this left me feeling very distracted. That said, I enjoyed immensely the descriptions of the architecture and fashion in the time period. And I always like an author who breaks the fourth wall. I‘ll try again.
Not my biggest haul but worthy all the same. Thank you for the great recommendations fabulous Littens! @RadicalReader
It by Stephen King
Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson #tuesdaytidbits

So I was thinking 🤔 #fickleheart ..... Did Hugh Fisher and Octavian Rofrano have fickle hearts or were they just other adjectives?!?! Octavian was in a peculiar predicament, but Hugh... 🤭🙄 SMH 🤦🏼♀️
HOT DIGGITY! Finally going to get to meet her!!
@AlwaysBeenaLover of Books
I always dream of reading Beatriz Williams‘ books. :)
"During the night, I dream that my husband arrives unexpectedly from Manhattan, in a plume of sultry exhaust from the engine of his Buick Battistini speedster, and let me tell you, the intrusion is most unwelcome."
Have you read it?
I feel a bit silly only selecting four books for my TBR this month....but...we are moving, planning a bridal shower and wedding, planning an 80th bday party for my mom, and a trip to Florida to finalize the daughters wedding plans in July. It‘s a good thing I don‘t work all summer. I wouldn‘t have time! Add to that all of my print books are packed in boxes, so I‘m limited to what‘s on my Kindle.
1. Love pop corners! 😋
2. This was a #BlameItOnLitsy and was sent to me by a sweet Litten @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks 💗
3. Yes! I‘m very allergic to mold. And I also have a sensitivity to fresh garlic and a severe one to sunshine. (So obviously I‘m part vampire) 🧛🏻♀️
4. I‘m very organized, but I‘m also a procrastinator, so... both. 🤷🏻♀️
5. The last new movie I watched was the new Jumangi. It was hilarious! 😂
I am a HUGE Beatriz Williams fan. But this book wasn‘t one of my favourites. I think flipping between narrators never let me get into the groove of the story. I do like how characters from other novels make appearances, but I did have to look up a Schuyler sisters family tree so that I could figure out what books everyone was from (I haven‘t read a Beatriz Williams book in over a year, which is maybe why I struggled with this one?)
What a sweet, wonderful surprise! This completely unexpected package just came for me from the lovely and thoughtful @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks and I‘m so touched! Such a kind thing to do! Thank you again Misty, I absolutely love it! 😍❤️❤️❤️

TODAY'S PROMPT: SCANDALOUS SATURDAY
Not sure there is a Scandalous Saturday in this book, but scandals do abound. :)
This cover is gorgeous, and the book is really good. Have you read it?
I love her books.
Congratulations @DGRachel on your achievement!!!! 🎊🍾🎉📚👏🏻 Thank you for the chance to win!! My favorite genre is historical fiction! Even though it‘s fiction it is based on events, time periods and sometimes people of that era! I love reading about it ❤️
I‘ve been back n forth between so-so and pick on this and it really is somewhere between those two. It was a decent read, I liked the story itself but I found myself getting easily confused and my mind wandering. So it wasn‘t all that engrossing.
Her covers sure are beautiful tho, aren‘t they?
I think I‘ll spend he rest of the #24in48 switching between this paper book and The Nightingale (reread) on my kindle. We‘re leaving for a few hours tho, going to go look at some new model homes and then takes the dogs for a walk.
If you are on Instagram, you may want to join in the #beatrizbinge. Book and swag giveaways. LOVE her books.
This came in the mail today from the publisher and I have no idea why. Not complaining.....just really confused 😉
Woohoo for coming home from a rough day to random free book mail from @HarperCollins I can‘t wait to read this gem. I ❤️ the Jazz age
