This was probably the best podcast I‘ve ever listened to! I listened to the entire thing in 2 days. Nothing scarier than a true-crime story about a doctor doing harm, and not a single person doing anything to stop it. If you‘re looking for an amazing podcast, give this a try! It‘s also very halloween-appropriate #scarathlon #teamslaughter

Read this for #BOTMBuddyRead and absolutely loved it! Scary to think that this was a true story 😔 I went way far ahead of the schedule but I had to read it before my library loan expired! Can‘t wait for the rest of the discussions. Also, fits 2 categories for #scaryscavengerhunt (1) over 200 pages and (2) where a character dies (actually, several do!) #scarathlon #teamslaughter

#ScaryScavengerHunt : this book (1) has a black cover, (2) has bone in the title, and (3) is part of a series (Legacy of Orïsha Series)
Absolutely loved this book! It had plenty of magic and suspense to keep me interested, and featured a strong female lead. Rumors are that it‘s going to be a movie, and I cant wait! Perfect way to start of #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter

Shayrpshooter I‘m super excited to see this become a film. What an amazing 😉 story! (edited) 2w

Can‘t believe it‘s already the last day of September! Feels like I was just starting this #bookishbingo challenge and now it‘s over! I‘m not normally one for audiobooks so I thought this was going to be more of a challenge for me but it was actually pretty easy and a lot of fun 😁

goodbyefrancie What audio books did you listen to? I'm always looking for a great audio! 2w
samanthagutt @goodbyefrancie I just started reading “Children of Blood and Bone” (2019 Audiobook of the year) and I love it so far! The narrator is fantastic. I also read Girl Wash Your Face, The Help, and Essentialism. There were also a few others that I started but bailed because I couldn‘t really get into it (edited) 2w

This book left me completely uneasy and uncomfortable, which I suppose was the entire point of the story. I normally love psychological thrillers, but this one was so dark I physically felt nauseated at times. The idea behind the novel was interesting and it did have a surprising twist at the end (which I appreciated). Sometimes I just wanted to bail and not finish the story, but other parts kept me so interested I couldn‘t put the book down.

Reagan-reads I much preferred Dark Places to this one. 2w

I absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this book to any working women who are at ANY stage in their career. It really opens your mind to think about important topics such as women in the workplace, struggles we still face to this day, and women supporting women (as well as men and women supporting each other). I loved it so much I‘m buying several copies to give to family and friends who I think should read it!

I so struggled with my rating for this book. However, I overall enjoyed it. It was a quick and easy read, and many times I found myself saying “yes! I so needed to hear this”. Other times I found her very cringey and trying too hard to be “liked” and “relatable” to the reader. Whenever she said “tribe” or “I‘m AWFUL at ...” I was thinking ohhh here we go again. But overall she had great things to say and I enjoyed it!

Loved this story so much! This is one of the few books I recommend to watch the movie first, because the actors did such a wonderful job portraying these characters. Picturing the actors while reading made the story that much more enjoyable. Such an amazing book with a really important message. 5 ⭐️

I was extremely disappointed in this book! I absolutely loved Big Little Lies and had high hopes for this story, but it unfortunately fell flat. The storyline was so ridiculous that I found myself just trying to get to the end. Also, the fact that there were nine main characters and points of views made it hard to build a connection with any of them. It was just an all-around terrible book.

Mdargusch I loved this book! It's funny how it seems readers either love it or hate it. 1mo
samanthagutt @Mdargusch I noticed the same thing when I was reading reviews prior to reading! I absolutely loved Big Little Lies, I couldn‘t put it down! But this one was a huge miss for me unfortunately😔 1mo

This book could have easily been condensed into 100 pages or less. Many of the points were pretty obvious; however, there were parts of the book I found interesting. For example, learning not to say yes to everything right away or responding to people too quickly. Also, learning that it‘s not about how many things you cross off your “to-do” list, but limiting what you put on there in the first place! All-in-all I thought this book was just average

I really enjoyed this book in the Tracy Crosswhite series! I love how the seemingly-separate stories ended up intertwined by the end of the book. This was one of the fewer crime/mystery stories where I couldn‘t figure it out on my own by the end of the story! The storyline kept me interested the entire time, and it was a relatively quick read.

This book wasn‘t what I was expecting at all, and I personally think that the description was a little misleading. Although it wasn‘t the worst book, I just felt disappointed in the storyline development. As I said, it wasn‘t a bad book but I had much higher expectations after reading the description and the book just didn‘t meet my expectations.

This book was 458 pages of suspense, excitement, mystery, and even some humor. I finished this entire book in a day and a half, I couldn‘t put it down! It was so well-written and easy to read, and the characters were all so relatable. Definitely one of the best books I‘ve read all summer. I‘ll be watching the tv show next, but I doubt it will be as good as the book was!

Loved this book! I love detective novels (I have also nearly finished the Women‘s Murder Club books by James Patterson), and this was excellently written. I would give it 4/5 stars (only docking a star for slight predictability). I read these 410 pages with ease, and can‘t wait to read the rest of the books in this series.
