It‘s been a week. I don‘t think my waistline can handle another day of pie for breakfast but the stress is killing me and Costco pumpkin pies are pretty darn good. On the bright side I‘m loving my new NY public library mug my bestie in NY sent me for my birthday. A bright spot in a crazy week.

My sister came into the city yesterday for holiday shopping and sightseeing. Of course we stopped by the main branch of the library and it‘s gift shop. This is me in front of one of the NYPL lions, Fortitude, dressed in his winter holiday greenery.
With Amazon gone, Queens building owners may boot local library branch.

I am now officially the proud owner of two library cards since my card for the New York Public Library arrived yesterday!!
I learned from Litsy that I was eligible to get one (thanks @PenguinInFlight !!)

I learned today that resident of New York State can get a NY Public library card and get access to their online materials! I thought you had to live in the city. I applied for mine today, and it takes about a month to get in the mail. I‘m so excited! 🤗🎉This will add a TON of titles that I am able to access on Libby and Overdrive, as I am in a fairly rural area in upstate NY. #litsyloveslibraries #i❤️NY
Finally remembered to send my ID to get an NYPL card.. I realized their overdrive/Libby collection is waaaaay better than my local system. Hope it doesn‘t really take a whole month to come!
Finally got a library card in my new city! So excited to explore some of the beautiful libraries of NYC! I‘m lucky enough to live a 5 minute walk from one of the branches.
Fun fact: the lions outside of the main branch of the NYPL are named Patience and Fortitude.

Finally made it to the New York Public Library main branch! Such a gorgeous and majestic building, and the famed Reading Room made me happy just standing in it!

I often take the fact that I live in New York for granted, but passing the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building (this is the side entrance on 42nd Street just east of Bryant Park) of the New York Public Library usually makes me stop to catch my breath and appreciate how wonderful this city is. #NYPL

Visiting friends in NYC and my friend took me to the New York Public Library--it was gorgeous! I could have stayed for days.

Typically when I arrive at a library or bookstore, I don't stop and take pictures (I usually just run in and devour all the books 😂😂), so other than this snapshot, I don't have any photographs of either for the #somethingforsept challenge today. But, if your phone is going to have only ONE photograph of a library or bookstore on it, this is a pretty good place to have photographed. 📚
