I wanted to like this. I really did. And I typically don't finish books I don't like, but I really wanted to get through this for #Authoramonth & #NYPL #LoveReading. I find it so hard to like a book when I don't like *any* of the characters. I think that Zadie Smith just isn't for me. 😔

My ebook library hold came in! Of course right as I am reading a million other things but excited for this one! Have to get this one done in 2 weeks before it disappears and I end up on a huge list - so pausing my #foodandlit and #readthemonths for a bit!

I'm not going to star rate this one, because I didn't like it much, but that's because it simply wasn't my cup of tea. It's no reflection on Jemisin. This was my first book of hers, and it will be my last, but that TRULY is "it's not you, it's me". Her world-building & storytelling lived up to the hype. The twist caught me off guard. She deserves the awards she's won. Just not my type. But it did tick off some boxes for challenges! ??

This one has been on my TBR list for a while. No better time to read it. Honestly surprised it was available through #NYPL but since “Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism, and You” is not available at the online NYPL, I figured it was no time like the present. I guess all the other white people had other things to do other than read and learn about their own fragility.
