I just hit the halfway point in this one! I am so in love with this story and these characters! 💕📚💕 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #rumpel #pickleschallenge

Self care part 2. ( they‘re tall shelves and I couldn‘t get them in one photo!
Characters are always Hobb's strong suite and it is true here as well. Strong second book. Dragons and keepers head up the river to try to find Kelsingra, a mythical city of dragons. Will they find it?
This book captures the imagination so much so, that I found myself actually dreaming of dragons and the Rain Wilds.
I usually try to only read 1 Robin Hobb per month, in order to get to all the other books on my TBR. But lately, every time I finish one I find myself picking up the next one in the series. The others will just have to wait, I‘m fully immersed in this world and I don‘t want to leave!
Dear Robin Hobb, thank you once again for writing a story I can truly get caught up in. I don‘t usually like fantasy that features a heavy dose of dragons, yet here I am loving every page of your dragon-filled Rain Wilds Chronicles. I think I may even like the dragons more than the human characters 🐉 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Same book as yesterday, different mug. After a long day of work, and helping my daughter get ready for her first day back at school tomorrow (she‘ll be doing 50% in class and 50% home learning), I‘ve finally been reunited with my book.
I was hoping to share pics of the birthday books I ordered for myself (today is my birthday 🥳), but Canada Post is slow, so I don‘t have them yet 😕
I wish every author had the ability to draw me into their stories the way that Robin Hobb does. She‘s a master storyteller.
Hey @TrishB I‘ve read that the Rain Wilds books should be read prior to reading the Fitz and the Fool trilogy. Is this true?
As good as the first 📖😋🙌🏽
Fantastic as always. Why did I delay so long?
@DivaDiane I took your advice to heart! 😁

I love how Hobb can take a book about dragons and make it about so much more! In this second book we follow the dragons and their keepers on their quest to find a place to be. But Hobb also deals with the fragile male ego, gender stereotypes, sexuality, physically and mentally abusive relationship. I‘m in awe of how she writes complex and nuanced female characters, and how she manages to be political while still writing a great story!
Finished this book tonight. Took me a while to get through it as I've been very busy lately. Robin Hobb weaves stories with such incredible character development. This volume wrapped up nicely what I felt was left hanging in the first book.

I‘m all set for my weekend home alone. I got my stack of books (almost finished with book two!), a big bowl of candy and everything I need to make iced coffee after iced coffee 👌

I‘m all set for some lovely and warm outdoors reading today 👌🌞

Haven‘t read them yet - but I‘m discovering Robin Hobb and think this trilogy might be next! #mels3kgiveaway. @melyndarae Congratulations on the milestone⭐️

In this series the dragons 🐉 are learning to fly again (Cindy will love these then! 😁)
Housework be damned, there are dragons to keep me company. I'm finding this series to be engrossing, and recommend it to all my fellow readers who enjoy a good fantasy series. (🐲 and dragons of course!)
For a while, I was wondering if this was a so-so, but no, it'll have to be a pick. It gets a bit wordy at times, things are explained perhaps two times too many, and there's a bit too much relationship focus (1 romantic sub plot is enough!), but it's still a great story. #fantasy (I need more #dragons!)
I wish Hobb would tone down the slut shaming in this book. It's not even like it can be blamed on one character, it's all over the place. Also, is Litsy crashing for someone else too? It crashed three times before I could post this.
Currently in a slow patch of the book (at 50%), hoping it will pick up soon... Breakfast reading with my homemade sourdough bread with lemon curd and black coffee 👍 #fantasy #dragons #breakfastandbooks
This sounds more morbid than it is, but I couldn't resist 😇 #fantasy
Chillin' with my buddy Conan and the very last pieces of chocolate. The work day is over 😎👍 #catsoflitsy #petsoflitsy
Ugh! Why all the repetitions of things that happened in book 1? 😖 This I DON'T miss about Fantasy!
There's something about Fantasy books and big fat ACTUAL paper books, not ebooks, perhaps because I read Fantasy before ebooks became a thing. However, I couldn't wait for book 2 so I got the Kindle version 🤓
Much better than the first book in this series. It managed to feel like a complete story, while clearly being the middle part of a series.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! I don't but I have a lot to be thankful for today. I just got accepted to the literature master of my choise! I am super excited about this as I don't have a bachelor in literature and was not expecting to get in. Time to celebrate with tea, carrot cake and a book!!!! 😀🎉
#PhotoADayNov16- I'm #thankfulfor a lot of things, including (but not limited to) my ebook hold coming in so I don't have to wait to finish this series, friends who send me lovely text messages, stickers in photo editing apps, and a monster/snuggle pup (even though she'll never replace the dog in my profile pic in my heart).
The boyfriend is out for diner and drinks with friends so tonight it's just me, my book and my camera shy cat. Paired with mushroom risotto and blueberries and Greek yoghurt for dessert. Also the neighbour is blasting some dance music so I put on some classical music to drown it out. I love classical music when I'm reading (Dvorak romance for strings is especially good) do you listen to music when reading? And if so, what?
I pick Hobb's arrogant, wise and mighty dragons as my #supernaturalbeings for #booktober. They are extremely proud and anoying but this somehow feels like it is what dragons are supposed to be like. After some interesting reading on the refugee crisis time to avoid reality with this wonderful piece of fantasy.
