pickNot only my favorite part of the series, but also my favorite ace rep I came along until now. Here it's all cute and fluffy and funny, whilst I usually only found tragedies following aces around. And how much I could relate to Dave and Simon! Maybe that's why I love them so much.
But also, after all the sad and deep audio books I listened to, this book was just what I needed. Something for the heart, something to laugh and just forget the world.
With its mixed reviews, I‘m starting this with a bit of trepidation.

I‘m in one of those moods where I don‘t know what I want to read so I just picked one up that‘s been in my TBR pile for a while… but this looks intriguing.
For there, in the land beyond the shadows, were monsters that dwelled in the night and dined on the souls of children who wandered too close to the woods.
so-soI struggle with this one.
I didn't connect with any of the characters, in fact I kept thinking that if it weren't for Kyle (who I hate, by the way) this whole story wouldn't exist.
The slow pace, character driven plot just didn't grab me like the Farseer Trilogy did.
However, I understand that Hobb develops her stories over time, and I can see a lot of potential in this trilogy and its importance in the overall Elderling series.

pickThis took me a really long time to read cause I wasn‘t in a reading mood but I finally fished it and loved it.
Will be picking up the next book really soon because I need to know what happens next.
pickThis one won me over by the end. The last few chapters are explosive, and I loved the devotion of the love interest 😋
Having said that, I don't disagree with the criticism either. Fourth Wing isn't perfect. It's clichéd, the MC is annoying, and the world-building is sloppy and jars with the modern language.
Still, there is a reason why it is resonating with so many readers, and I'm invested now.
