Ms. Han,
I said I was going to read you last year and the year before that but time and other books just kept getting in the way but now…I‘ve been challenged to finish it by next week! Scholar: I bet you won‘t. Me: Watch and learn young grass hopper!

Did I finish anything from my February TBR? No.

Did that stop me from creating another monthly tbr? Also no.

I went with some categories this time around.

Great on audible. The narrator took some getting used to.

This has the feel of being 16 again, in the midst of those never-ending summers. I miss it, but you also couldn‘t pay me to go back. It is a reminder of all those times when you were still figuring out what you wanted, what mattered to you, and what you had outgrown.

lazydaizee I was 16 in 1976, and that was a hot summer , it felt like it was never going to end. 2w

Pickpick

Arnie Yashenko, 8th grader, has all the panache of a modern #superhero. He‘s tall, quick, agile, good student, good at any sport he tries, not to mention already plays on a high school football team. Korman‘s new book is clever and amusing, published this year.

Panpan

An average teen summer read. I do not think there's anything special about this one.
Teenage girl from a somewhat broken family, going through a “break,“ meets a new cool guy, life changes, and now gotta choose between the two.

I think there are too many good books out there to take out time for this one.
2/5🌟

Same Time Next Summer | Annabel Monaghan

audiobook ISBN 9780593742013

Wyatt broke Sam's heart 12 years ago since when she hasn't seen him but this summer she takes her fiancé to her family's beach house - and Wyatt is there too.

Ch 24; still haven't got to the reason for their break-up. Looks suspiciously like Sam's family is throwing them together in spite of the fact that she & Jack are looking for a wedding venue.

humouress I like both of Monaghan's books that I've read; the clean romance aspect & the thrill of falling in love.

I chose the audio book because I really liked the audio of 'Nora Goes off Script' read by Hillary Huber. But this was read by Brittany Pressley (& Dan Bittner for 'Wyatt'); both had a southern accent and dragged the ends of sentences which worked for Wyatt (made him sound laid back) but not so much for the narration - or, really, for Sam. ⬇️

humouress ⬆️ And I couldn't always tell what was spoken vs thought. She did have a good variety of voices, so I could tell who was speaking but I was a little distracted by her style of narration. Mind you, not the worst I've heard by a long shot. I was just spoiled by Huber 😊 (edited) 3w
