Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and Ryu - Jane's bloodsucking boyfriend - can't let a major holiday go by without getting all gratuitous. An overwhelming dose of boyfriend interference and a last-minute ticket to Boston later, and Jane's life is thrown off course. Ryu's well-intentioned plans create mayhem, and Jane winds up embroiled in an investigation involving a spree of gruesome killings. All the evidence points towards another Halfling, much to Jane's surprise...

Tracking the Tempest | Nicole Peeler

Okay everyone, thank you SO MUCH for all of your input and help!!! I genuinely appreciate it so much!! Originally I was thinking it would just have a checklist, but then someone suggested actually having blanks where participants could fill in the books they had read for each spin. SO I am now providing you with two links. For those interested (literally NO PRESSURE) please feel free to look at both of these and tell me if there is a format you ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) like better and also let me know if there are things I should change!!

Checklist Option: https://forms.gle/ogV8qnNkM8tYSKPv8

Short Answer Option: https://forms.gle/LMdeQE3iFVLSx74Y7

Hopefully my links work... that may be the first thing I need to fix 😂 Thanks again - you all are amazing & I really appreciated all the thoughtful responses!!!!

Tagging those who commented on my first post (now you're my test subjects LOL)

Johanna414 I would happily fill out either of those forms if it made things a little easier on your end. Great idea! 2y

Soubhiville I prefer the short answer form, just because I like to see what title I read for each at the end of the year. 2y
BeckyWithTheGoodBooks I don‘t have a preference. I could easily do either of these forms if it made things easier for you! 2y
Soubhiville Also, typo in your post- “I am not providing you with”. It‘s funny this way, but you might want to fix it . 2y
sprainedbrain I like the Short Answer one best, but will do whichever you go with. 😃 2y
fredthemoose Either would be fine with me. Are these forms that we should just wait to fill out at the end of the year (vs. at the end of each month)? 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Soubhiville - LOL thank you for pointing that out 😂 My favorite is when my typos turn my sentence into the exact opposite of what I'm saying haha For #Authoramonth I think you could have a similar form, with a “question“ for each month. Participants could either just put in a number, or could put in the titles of each book they read? Or it could even be two questions per month: January - Number of Titles; January - Titles Read ...?? 2y
TheAromaofBooks @fredthemoose - I'm thinking that I would provide the link starting in January, but would leave the form editable for the entire year. So participants could either update their form as they go along, or wait and fill it all in at the end of the year. 2y
Chrissyreadit I will do whichever. 2y
bookandbedandtea I have a preference for the short answer version but will happily fill out whichever is the winner 😁 2y
Daisey I prefer the short answer option as I like seeing the titles as well. Additionally, it could be used in checklist form by those that prefer a simpler option by just typing in an X or other symbol for each completed. 2y
sebrittainclark I like the short answer option. That way I don't forget what I already read when I fill it out each month. 2y
staci.reads I also like the short answer version, and I like the idea of sharing it in January and keeping it editable all year. But truly, I'm good with whatever makes it more manageable for you. Either way, I'm still in. 2y
BookDadGirlDad I think the short answer option would be better if you decide to spot check. I don't think people here would be dishonest in their answers but it keeps the integrity of the challenge. At minimum, you can always verify the "winner" did indeed review and tag you. The emails may get a bit overwhelming. Do you want us to actually do a test by filling out the form for you? 2y
candority I think either is fine, but I like the short answer one more! 2y
AmyK1 I also like the short answer option. 2y
ravenlee I like both options but prefer the short answer. It makes a lot of sense to streamline things, with as big as #BookSpin has gotten! Also, if leaving it editable all year doesn‘t work, doing a quarterly check-in (like #Booked does, I think) might be an option. 2y
Librarybelle I like the short answer option the best, but either form works! 2y
FantasyChick I meant to throw my two cents into the ring earlier but I got busy and lost the post lol. I like the short answer option best. I use a similar format for my #bujo so it will be super easy to copy it over at the end of the year! I'm good with whatever is best and easiest for you though 😊 2y
MeganAnn I also like the short answer version so we can add the titles. It‘d be fun to see the list of all those titles at the end of the year. And like @BookDadGirlDad mentioned that would give you a way to double check if need be. 2y
kimmypete1 I like the short answer option as well. :) 2y
kimmypete1 Not sure if you did this, cause I can‘t tell on my end of form, but you can make it editable and only one response per person (which will make the edit responses more obvious). 2y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I like number 2 for all the reasons everyone listed above. But I‘d change 2 things to sort of combine them and the other part of your challenge. List what your book spin double spin was each month. Then Read when (month answer, so you know if it was read that month or later in the year). Then did you participate in bingo this month Y/N or Did you get Bingo if you participated in that this month. Maybe something like that. People can keep ⤵️ 2y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ track all year long and post as they go, but you‘ll have it all in one place at year end. (edited) 2y
IndoorDame I prefer the short answer option as well. I think it‘s fun to look back and see all the titles. But I‘m okay with filling out either. 2y
Lovesbooks87 Of course I would do this! I can‘t even imagine having to track everyone‘s tags each month! I would prefer the checklist but would do either one. I also think it would be a good idea to send out the google forms at the beginning of each year so people can add the books each month. 2y
Lcsmcat I‘m fine with either - whichever makes your life easier. 2y
rockpools If you do share it in January, the form just existing will make me more organised, no matter which version you use! (I haven‘t tracked my bookspins at all this year 🤫). Either would be great, but I‘d prefer the short answer option, so I could see if I‘d actually managed to read stuff off my own shelves! 2y
wideeyedreader I agree with almost everyone else—I really like the short answer version! I just think it‘s cool to see what everyone is reading! 2y
BookmarkTavern Totally agreeing on all the reasons for the short answer form! 👍🏻👍🏻 But in the end, it‘s what will work best for you! We‘ll adapt! 😉 2y
Addison_Reads I like the short answer form personally. 2y
Deblovestoread Short answer would be my choice. I love that you are going to do this! 2y
rabbitprincess I like both forms but really like how the checklist states “I have completed” for every month. With the short answer form, the instruction to fill in completed spins appears only at the top. Some people may not see the instruction if it‘s only at the top and thus may fill in the form to keep track of their spin books even if they have not completed them. 2y
rabbitprincess So maybe you could do it as the checklist form but also include a text field for them to enter the title of the book. 2y
reading_rainbow Either one I‘m ok with but I do slightly prefer the short answer option 📝 2y
Bookzombie Both forms are great. I would think the checklist format would be simpler for you unless you want to see what each person has read on the form. I definitely need to track better next year as this year I had to go back and hunt what mine were, lol. 2y
marleed Whatever makes things easiest for you is great. Honestly for me, it‘s all about creating a list of 20 books, finding out on the 2nd of each month which two I‘m committed to, and then finding out throughout the month how close I get to a bingo or blackout. If you did nothing beyond the 2nd I‘d still work my list the same way! 2y
HeyT I think the short answer form works best for personal tracking of completed spins. Especially if it's editable all year. Having been behind on doubles for the past couple months I had to make a list of what book went with which month and I feel like the short answer form is similar to what I have as a cross reference. 2y
Yuki_Onna Since again, fellow Littens have already said everything I might have had to say, I second @Johanna414 and @marleed ! 2y
Zuhkeeyah I like the short answer form. I like riveted_reader_melissa‘s suggestion to have a space to track bingos. Honestly, both will work great so please choose whichever option would be simplest for you. 2y
Larkken I like either! It could be a lot of emails, is it possible to have google update you in a sort of roll up or digest once a month or so? Otherwise you could change over to an editable spreadsheet where each user can make their own row, and you wouldn‘t have the email barrage but could still check in on everyone‘s progress. Just a thought… 2y
Tera66 I like both options. 😊 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Larkken - I can choose to receive an email every time someone fills out a form, or I can manually go in and see if people have filled it out. I can also download all the info into a spreadsheet!! So my idea is everyone can update their form as much as they like throughout the year, but would need to have their info locked in by the end of the year. Then I only have to go in once to download the spreadsheet for my giveaway!!! 2y

“Once again, I was struck by how tiny she was. Unlike me, however, hers was a terrifying form of tiny: the tiny of poisonous spiders, plastic explosives, or the Olsen twins.”

I'm not doing a review for this one on my blog. This is a Litsy exclusive review. :)

I liked this one more than the first. I still find Jane a little annoying at times. I prefer stronger heroines but I can see where they are going with Jane & I think I like it. So, if you read the first & find Jane a bit simpering (& Ryu infuriating) like I did i recommend continuing the series anyway. They're quick reads & the journey seems worthwhile. #janetrue

EloisaJames I really like Nicole's light, funny voice. 7y

There is a wicked #madscientist in this little number. Side note: these covers are adorable. #octphotochallenge @LibrarianRyan #paranormal

BookBoggart I had 8 of the series. I only got to read one before I moved. Moved on the bus, only took about 7 books with me. It's been almost 2 years and I'm still waiting to go back and get all my books. I have many now! But I refused to buy series I already own. *sigh* soon! 7y
josie281 @Mary-JaneGrant you are my twin in this! My items have been in storage for about a year and a half! But our offer on a house was accepted yesterday so I may have bookshelves to hug again soon! 7y

Hmm. Going to read a couple chapters of one of the two books I'm #reading before I #sleep.

Literary murder mystery written by a well respected #historian / award winning author

Or

Cheesy #supernatural #romance series novel about a half-selkie....

Hmm....decisions #decisions. #calebcarr #nicolepeeler #completelyirrelevantphoto but isn't it pretty? #northcarolina #fortfisher
