Little Women | Louisa May Alcott
Louisa May Alcott's classic tale follows the lives of the four March sisters. Beautiful Meg, tomboyish Jo, fragile Beth, and romantic Amy may not have a lot of money while their father is off fighting in the Civil War, but the have each other and their friends. Follow the powerful story of love and friendship in the Calico Illustrated Classics adaptation of Alcott's Little Women.

“She wondered what the business was that brought Mr. Bhaer to the city, and finally decided that he had been appointed to some great honor, somewhere, but had been too modest to mention the fact. If she had seen his face when, safe in his own room, he looked at the picture of a severe and rigid young lady, with a good deal of hair, who appeared to be gazing darkly into futurity, it might have thrown some light upon the subject...”

I read the last chapter of Little Women this morning which was bittersweet. This is one of my all-time favorites, and this #REread was super slow. This book had been my constant companion for over a year, a chapter here and a chapter there, and I'm going to miss it. I think I'll continue REreading my classic children's lit though. Up next: Laura Ingalls Wilder

Absolutely delightful! A certain type of innocence and purity that one no longer finds in today‘s novels. I did raise my eyebrows at some of the language but 1863 was obviously a different time. The life lessons offered by Marmee still hold true in 2019🙌🏻 looking forward to the film adaptation coming this Christmas. 👇🏼

Cinfhen Little Women is an upcoming American coming-of-age period drama. It is the eighth feature film adaptation of the 1863 novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. The film stars Meryl Streep, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern & James Norton. Release date December 25, 2019. #Booked2019 #PublicDomain #Pop19 #BookToScreen2019 1mo

A classic is always love. Makes us feel that life is simple. And also is making me think that has life become more complex now? With evolving humans and evolving environment are we loosing intimacy at various levels? Rich or poor, we will keep together and be happy in one another. Is it true even now? Well it‘s all about discovering. Wait and watc?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

When it comes to not wanting a book to end.. Little Women is the book of all books that I personally didn‘t want to say goodbye to. A new all time favorite of mine! So wholesome and true. A story written over 150 years ago filled with so many TIMELESS truths. I felt like I was in a time machine every time I opened the book. It was a window to a time I‘ll never see. review continues in comments ⚠️

BookBumming Louisa May Alcott has such a witty sense of humor. I laughed and cried from beginning to end. Now I understand its popularity, I cannot wait to watch the films!
Read it during Thanksgiving and it was so wonderful.

My daughter is reading a trilogy and a character got killed at the end of book two. She found that a bit sad and has decided to take a break before the final book.

“So I‘ve started reading a book you said I might like.”

“Which one?”

“Little Women”

“...um...”

So then I had River Song saying “Spoilers!” in my head, but I felt I had to say something.

“You... might find that there are some sad parts in that one too...”

Leniverse @sixgun Never heard of it so I looked it up. It has David Tennant, so that puts it on my watchlist even if the ratings aren't good. 😂 6mo
Leniverse @LauraBeth Oh no! I didn't read it as a child, (and had already seen the movie with Winona Ryder) so it didn't have the same impact. I figured my daughter would like it as she basically *is* Jo March. 😂 But I'll make sure we have plenty of emergency cocoa in the house. 6mo
