4½ ✨
Revisiting this book, made me realise just how much I've let the spoiled ending and need to continue with the Will Trent series affect my opinion.
This is a brilliant book!
While revising Faithless I even had the thought that for a small quiet town, it seemed to be attracting a lot of bad. Sort of far fetching.

This is the last book in the Grant County series. We find out a lot more about Detective Lena Adams and her past. Lena gets a call from a childhood friend who tells her she needs to check on her uncle, as he‘s not been seen for weeks. What she discovers is disturbing. She, along with Chief Jeffrey Tolliver and his wife, Sara Linton, are thrust into a very dangerous situation. It doesn‘t end well. #SeriesLover2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
Detective Lena Adams is accused of murder. A hundred miles away, Chief Jeffrey Tolliver learns that Lena has been arrested and his wife, pediatrician and medical examiner Sara Linton, is fighting a heartbreaking malpractice suit.
Lena has fled to the place where she grew up, careening back through the shadows of her past. Now only Jeffrey and Sara can free Lena from the web of lies that has trapped her.
I have only read 3 of the 6 books in this series. I liked this book. The story involves white supremacy groups and drug runners. Lena goes back to her hometown and accidentally gets involved in the corruption of the small town. Lena is not a very likable character, and at times I wondered why her partner was trying so hard to save her. Interesting mystery.
Time to start posting these books. It's gonna be a chore 🤣
I started the month by finishing off the Grant County series. I didn't enjoy this as much as I had hoped but it was still enjoyable. I think the series just exhausted me after a full binge. I will be interested to see how this fits will Will Trent but I think I need a little break from these guys. They wear me out 🤣

Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was out of cinnamon sticks so a trip to the store is in order later. Not as pretty as I like it but it sure smells good in here!!

This is the sixth and last book in the Grant County series.
In a stifling jail cell in a hardscrabble Georgia town, Detective Lena Adams sits in stubborn silence: bruised, angry, and the only suspect in a horrific murder that left a woman incinerated beyond recognition. Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver has gotten the call that his young detective has been arrested.
Nails the thriller genre every time.
I started the Will Trent series before Grant County so I already knew Jeffery was going to die at some point. And even though I knew, when it finally happened, I wasn‘t prepared for how hard it would hit me. The way he declared his love for Sara in his last dying breaths gutted me. Dammit, Karin! I‘ll still read anything you write though 😬
Not for the faint of heart ! The bad guys are really bad in most of Ms Slaughters books , mean & violent . This one was suspenseful with many twists & turns. I love her characters. And the ending! I was 😱
Finished the last book in the Grant County series today. @TheSpineView #SeriesRead2021
What an incredible ending to a heart pounding, thrilling series! I definitely did not see that ending coming. Fans of dark mysteries/thrillers should read this series. Special thanks to @vivastory for reminding me about it.
I can't wait to read more of Sara Linton's character in Slaughter's Will Trent series.

Last book in the Grant County series and what an ending! 😳 Lena is back in her hometown getting into trouble while Jeffery and Sara come to her rescue. Lena finally finds out what really happened to her mother. Jeffery and Sara are anxious to adopt a baby. In true Slaughter fashion, this book is filled with suspense and action. The ending was a complete shocker that I won‘t soon forget. #MountTBR
I am SO late to finish grant county! This was one of my favorite ones in the series, and now I‘m so excited to focus on WILL 😬😬
This review is for the six books in Slaughter's Grant County Series. Karin Slaughter is hands down one of my favorite living thriller authors. She is absolutely fearless in her subject matter & never backs down from putting her characters through hell. Needless to say there is a lot of deeply disturbing (to put it mildly) content in her books, but I personally never felt like it was for shock value. Her work is southern gothic meets propulsive 👇
Five stars. Gut wrenching but great!!! Definitely left me breathless 😞
For the first time in 20 years I visited Turku. Animal rights lawyers conference, and I also met my Ph.D supervisor for the first time! After some hardcore legal debates and insights from around the globe it‘s time to relax on the bus and read some Slaughter (a different kind of slaughter was on the agenda earlier today).
So much this!! We need to build each other up, not tear each other down. #girlpower #buildeachotherup
The 6th, and last, book in the Grant County series. I loved this series. Just finished this and I AM NOT OK! What a way to end a series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was glued to this book! Karin Slaughter is such a great story teller. I will forever recommend her books to everyone I know!
I‘m going to go on a break with Karin... I honestly couldn‘t get enough of this series. She managed to make me fall in love and break my heart at the same time. Best series!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💔😭
Still stuck inside at least until this evening. So I am changing up my view! 🤗
Down to -40* and an unexpected day off. This means I don‘t have to be an adult today!!! 💨🌬☃️❄️😋
Working on speed this morning with the help of Karin Slaughter! 🤗🏃♀️ I cant seem to get into any other books so I‘m just going to stick with her books for a while. 💪
BRB, just trying to find a book about puppies and unicorns and rainbows. I loved the entire Grant County series and am looking forward to tackling some of her others but my brain and heart need a LOOOOONG break from Karin Slaughter. 4⭐️
TW (for the entire series): Rape, domestic abuse/violence
I can't say much without major spoilers but this book, the last in Slaughter's Grant County series, has completely wrecked me. I basically feel like I've been hit by a bus 😭
I thought about leaving the house today but my book is too good so 🤷🏽♀️😂
I cried when I finished this.
I love a book/series that makes me FEEL things and this one does in several ways. Karin Slaughter‘s writing astounds me, and her characterization and development of character relationships is just tops.
Please don‘t spoil this for future readers, but OH MY GOSH. I‘m just, I‘m speechless.
NO SPOILERS, NO SPOILERS, NO SPOILERS:
I‘ve been eager to get to this final Grant County book. Also afraid! Series endings terrify me because they‘re usually intense. I most often skip them altogether.
Every word from the past five books has led me to right now and my heart is beating so fast. I love these characters so much. YES I AM DRAMATIC. I love how things ended in the last book. Oh my gosh. Can it last?
DON‘T ANSWER THAT, LITSY!
Oh hey, I‘ve found my new favorite insult.
This is another good intense book in the Grant County Series, and I like the way this one fully involved Sara, Lena and Jeffrey - although the bulk of the book didn't actually take place in Grant County. There were so many positives to this book, but I felt it lost some of its shine in the final few paragraphs as I don't think what happened in those paragraphs was needed or even fitted with the book (no spoilers!). I still recommend the series.
Found these two #silhouettesoncovers. Haven't read either one. Now I want to read them both immediately. 😜😜#seasonsreadings2016
I had this spoiled for me a couple weeks ago and knew of a main character who was going to die, so I was almost afraid to read this! But I still loved this book, though I'd be *really* upset right now if I didn't know that the surviving characters show up later in the Will Trent books. Quite a bit was left up in the air so I hope it's resolved eventually!
(Also lol I love how library books always show a reflection of my TARDIS phone case 😂)
