Sitting in the airport, waiting to fly to the happiest place on earth. Loving how many readers I saw walking in, but yikes! One had folded corners and another had wrapped the front cover around to the back of the book! #ohthehorrors #bookabuse #callthepolice #disneybound #ihopeibroughtenoughbooks #readerproblems

A murder mystery book that got me sipping so many cups of tea while reading! The pacing was a bit slow in the beginning, but once I became familiar with the characters and the neighborhood, I started to appreciate all the detailed descriptions. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out the culprit until the very end, but a definite recommendation for all tea lovers!

mandarchy Good for you! I'm trying to avoid sugar, but I'm a sucker for anything ending in ade. 3y
audraelizabeth @mandarchy sweet tea is my worst, i dont make it super sweet but i do drink around half a gallon a day. Im not much of a pop drinker 3y
mandarchy @audraelizabeth when I was a kid I drank a lot of Coca-Cola. I would give it up for Lent and switch to iced tea. At a certain point I realized I wasn't accomplishing anything. This conversation is making me thirsty! 3y
audraelizabeth @mandarchy Ive never been much for pop as a kid if i did drink it, sprite only. Yeah, i definitely didnt feel like i drank enough today. 3y

THE FULL NAMES WHY THE FULL NAMES OVER AND OVER WHYYYYY. My biggest writing pet peeve and it was so bad here. Annoyed me thru the whole book. Positives: loved the tea shop setting, super charming, & I learned a bit too! Whodunnit was a bit cliché but not obvious nor out of left field. But the writing was pretty poor, dialogue unnatural, and that full names thing GAH. (Not a language thing; she‘s a white English speaking author.) Pretty meh. 2/5 ⭐️

This is another one where certain characters are referred to by full names nearly every single time, multiple times on the same page, sometimes within the same paragraph of dialogue from one speaker. WHYYYYYYY. It‘s not a language or cultural thing—this is a white English speaking author. Seriously don‘t get it when authors do this or why editors allow it. Trust me, I know the name is Hughes Barron or Timothy Neville without seeing it 50 times! 😖

LiteraryinLawrence How odd! 4y
alisonrose @LiteraryinLititz it‘s like everyone except the very main characters, too...driving me batty! 4y

I read a cozy mystery in May and it was so enjoyable, so thanks to some great videos from intentionallybookish on YT, I ordered a whole bunch more. I love that they often have location themes—a tea shop mystery sounds just perfect! #nowreading

SamanthaMarie I read my first cozy last year and I am hooked!!! It is the majority of my reading these days haha! 4y

Have been hankering for a Cozy Mystery series since I finished Jenn McKinlay‘s wonderful Library Lovers Mystery series. Skipping CrossFit and Socializing, and getting a little reading and me time before studying 💙📚🍵 🤞🏻 that the snow flurries coming in tonight/ tomorrow will stick !

This is the first cosy mystery I've read and I found it an enjoyable and calming read. A nicely put together plot line set against the backdrop of a tea shop but with enough suspense to keep you reading

Happy Monday Litsy!

I've loved cozy mysteries since before I knew exactly what the genre was. They remain some of my most favorite long-running series. These are the first books my #Top6 cozy mystery series. As you might can tell, I have a special soft spot for book and food themed settings. The Magical Bakery & Tea Shop mysteries are particularly good! Mmmmh, tea & scones. 😻

@MeesesPieces thank you soooooo much for the #ChristmasInJulySwap gifts. I ♥ everything. I've been wanting these two books for a while now. I actually almost bought the tagged book on Monday. I'm glad I didn't. The 3D stickers are really cool. I'm going to make some into magnets for my fridge. And of course the Maleficent keychain is fantastic! Thank you!
@JamieLou

MeesesPieces Yay it makes me soooo happy you liked everything! I‘d love to see how the sticker magnets come out when you make them. I loved those stickers! Enjoy! Merry #christmasinjulyswap !!! @MaleficentBookDragon @JamieLou 5y

I was in the mood for a cozy and have been nosing around several series trying to find one I liked. I really enjoyed this very Miss Marple-ish but with a much younger protagonist mystery surrounding the death of a property developer reviled by the genteel long-time inhabitants of Charleston, SC. I also liked all the tea shop scenes. The writing didn‘t blow me away but it wasn‘t too awful either. Theodosia is a character I‘d like to read more of.

balletbookworm And if there‘s anything I‘ve learned from watching 20 seasons of Midsomer Murders, it‘s that property developers threaten village traditions and usually wind up the first dead body of any episode 6y

This was cute. I needed a book for #CozyMystery (and usual brand of mysteries/thrillers just did not fit the prompt), but this one checked all the boxes! I would have loved these types of books when I was younger, and I may still enjoy them when I need something a little lighter. I probably won‘t live in this genre, but it was fun to visit. #Booked2018

Melissa_J I enjoy this series. Some books are better than others, but the series is a great palate cleanser after a heavy read. 6y

AndreaReads @GarthRanzz @LiteraryinLititz Thank you! I color in books as I finish them and add in titles when I start reading or when I want to add new books to my list. I totally stole this layout from somewhere on Pinterest! @4thhouseontheleft Agreed! It was fun, but I don‘t feel the need to jump into another one right away, but I might try another tea shop mystery—it was a fun book! 6y
