at times, it felt more dismissive than healing.
though the writing stays calm & hopeful, it could be a tough read if you‘re emotionally vulnerable.

The asylum January is sent to seems to be inspired by the Brattleboro Retreat in Vermont. In 1887, patients built a lookout tower as part of their treatment, but later, many tragically jumped from the top. The tower was eventually sealed off, but eerie stories about it & the surrounding areas still persist.
