A light hearted fun read about 2 women from a small Texas town, who are hair dressers/ private detectives. They are invited to speak at a conference in NYC and meet interesting people and get involved in the search for a serial killer.

Her best friend is dying and asks her to step out of her comfort zone and go to NYC and deliver a letter. Misunderstandings...New Experiences...
This is a great lighthearted read when you are in the middle of moving.

Helen of Sparta | Amalia Carosella

Another one that I'm not sure how I feel about it. I really like reading about the Gods and Goddesses. But, I felt that Helen was wimpy and not sympathetic. However, it was nice to hear about the events from her point of view and before the Trojan War began.

Not sure how I feel about this one. It is basically about publishing a girlie magazine and was published in the 70s - so I don't know if the attitude is from that time - or if it's just how publishers still think. I did like the characters and the writing, though.

I'm moving (yes, again) and this is a light hearted and enjoyable read. Love the hilarious Dawn French. This is the 1st I've read from her and it did not disappoint. Rosie, the main character, found herself in a crazy situation.

As no one really knows, this novel is loosely based on the true story of the creation of these amazing tapestries. I can not praise this too much!

While Lady Jane Grey is one of my favorites, it never connected for me that her sister, Lady Katherine Grey, was next in line after Elizabeth 1. Richard 3 is another of my favorites, but I knew next to nothing about Katherine Plantagenet, his daughter. Plus, the Princes in the Tower story was weaved throughout the book. An enjoyable read for the History Geek that I am.

Follett is one of my favorite authors, so of course I enjoyed this. However, this reminded me of a John Jakes novel. Perhaps it's because this takes place before the American Revolution.

Nute This is the second time today that John Jakes has come across my radar...the stars must be aligning!✨ Much love for Ken Follet! 4y
Savugirl @Nute I'm sure Mr. Jakes would be pleased to know that he hasn't been forgotten. What was the first time he came up? 4y

The Red Tent | Anita Diamant

The story of Dinah, Jacob's daughter. The only things that I remember about Jacob are that he was tricked into marrying the older sister and his youngest son was sold into slavery by his other sons. As it's been 30+ years since I've read Genesis, thought I should reread his story. So, The Red Tent made me read another book at the same time. ☺️ I can't praise this book highly enough. Fantastic! Fabulous! Superb!

Still moving - and think I will be until the end of time. At least it seems like it. Anyway, this has been good for breaks. Hadn't read any Crichton in awhile and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed his writing. Has a lot about diving - so I've learned something new, too. 😊

Mariposa_Bookworm I enjoyed it, but it‘s not my favorite by her. I found the stalker to be more interesting than the hypnotist. 4y

Not sure how I feel about this as I'm not sure how much I'd like the characters if they were real people. Is Linda unpleasant because of the diet or is it just her nature?
It was an enjoyable read, though.
