Ugh these *books*!!! The first was good and hard to stop thinking about… but this second was fantastic. David is one of my favorite fictional characters right now (currently, I know the series is still going)…. And I‘m so glad I already ordered 3 and 4, which are set to arrive *tomorrow* because I can‘t wait.

@Soubhiville I think you sent me Truly Devious, yes? Thank you!! Have you read the whole series? Will it go past 4???

Karisa I love this series too! Still just need to read book #4. So much fun! 2mo
Hooked_on_books These series is so good! I gobbled the first three and then the fourth when it came out. I sure hope there‘s more. 2mo
Soubhiville I‘m not sure, maybe I did? I haven‘t read them, but I‘m really glad you‘re enjoying them! 2mo
mcipher I love these so much! Just recently read the 4th and really hoping for another 1mo
Avanders @Karisa @Hooked_on_books @mcipher I‘ve just finished the trilogy… 👏🏽👏🏽 Fortunately I have the 4th.. but I agree, she‘s set up such a great main character for a full-on series! 1mo

My only complaint about the first book was that I HAD to read the second because of the cliffhanger. I‘m sold on the series and will be finishing it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't know what I love more: Nate, or Maureen solving one of the major mysteries of this series for us with a whole book to go in the trilogy. #murdermystery #yalit

LiteraryinLawrence I LOVED this trilogy. But now that there‘s a 4th book out with many of these characters I don‘t know whether to reread the first 3 before diving in! 4mo

4/5 for the second in this trilogy! I‘m still loving this mystery trilogy. Stevie is just great. I love the side characters too like Janelle and Nate! I need to know what is going on with David. I also need to know what is happening.

The mystery not only continues, it starts to deliver some answers while leading to even more questions. David is a jerk in this book for sure, but given recent events, kind of understandable. #BookspinBingo

Book 2 in the Truly Devious series continued to be enjoyable. Not a whole lot happens though, given the length of the book. I‘m not sure why three books are necessary? A few reveals are made and the story moves along. One complaint. I dislike the fact that Stevie has issues with David over circumstances that are completely out of his control. Not only is she very dramatic about it, but it‘s just unfair. Otherwise, I like Stevie and her journey.

Eeeee! Another cliffhanger (as expected with book 2 of a trilogy) but sooooo good! I am so invested in this series and I need to borrow the 3rd book immediately!

Finishing this book also got me my first #bookspinbingo for January!

LiteraryinLawrence @Bkwrm7 A fourth book?? Whoa!! But does that mean that things are unresolved at the end of book 3? 11mo
Bkwrm7 The 3rd book resolves everything from the initial mystery. The 4th is a brand new standalone mystery, I believe! Due to publish in June this year. 11mo

4.3 🌟

This is soooo good. Things are happening not fast enough, and really fast. Love it!!
I figured the kidnapper, and I thought okay I just needed to know the motives. And yet, it got really out of control and kind of unexpected. Such an ending!! And by the way, I think I knew who Alice was, I guess I have to read the third book to confirm my suspicion.

Ooooo, this was so good! The characters are amazing (kudos for getting what it‘s like to live with anxiety spot on), the mystery is multi-layered and so engaging, and it takes place in an amazing boarding school for genius kids. (And there are secret tunnels and riddles!)

I just finished this book! Chapter 15 of 25 is where I got to the “I can‘t stop reading, I have to find out what happens!” It doesn‘t matter if this is a YA series, if you like mysteries and crime novels, you will like this. There are several paths to take, several matters to solve, and then they give you one and create another. Really, really good. On to book 3. I hope the ending doesn‘t disappoint.

April #TripleSpin book but read on May.Late but completed!?☺️ This is a sequel so not much to comment. I enjoyed it and the author integrates parts of the first book so it is not difficult to follow the story. Again, I will like to read the last book to see how will be the conclusion of this story. Quarantine Read No. 7

These books are so much fun and I need fun reads right now! I was never a big Sherlock Holmes-type mystery fan, but these books provide a fun, modern spin on the traditional detective stories.

In a good follow-up to Truly Devious, The Vanishing Stair seems to solve some of the mysteries set forward in the first book, though it ends on a new mystery that suggests there is more to the story. I‘m really enjoying this series and look forward to the next book, though I have a fairly long wait based on my library hold. This is YA, but I feel anyone who enjoys mystery is likely to like this series.

Late to this series but loving it so much!
Randomly: I‘ve found that quarantine slow rhythms are honestly kinda my jam, much as I miss restaurants and bars and pedicures and libraries and live yoga class... Hate to say I think still working helps a little too. How is everyone else holding up?

LiteraryinLawrence It‘s interesting that you say that. I‘ve been thinking lately that it might be hard to jump back into the overscheduled pace of life after this eases up. But I do really miss the possibility of doing things in the outside world, even if I don‘t want to do them all the time. 2y
Lucy_Anywhere When the shutdown lifts, I think I'm going to miss my quiet daily routines of reading over breakfast, yoga, and cooking. Working does help and I like having my Zoom lessons with the kids. I am looking forward to the pub and gym reopening though! 2y
Slajaunie I‘m enjoying my free time while still missing family and friends. 2y

kellock I honestly think I'm built for lockdown and slightly concerned that I would be ok being a hermit. Have the routine of work in the house has helped. 2y
mcipher @LiteraryinLititz Agreed! I really hope life stays a little slow for a while so we get to ease back in. 2y
mcipher @Lucy_Anywhere I miss the bar too!! But the daily routines are so nice and I feel like my house is so much cleaner - I don‘t know how well I‘ll keep up with those little things once things change “back”. 2y
mcipher @Slajaunie Definitely nice to have so much alone but I do want to go out and talk to people in person. Zoom isn‘t the same 2y
mcipher @kellock I secretly wonder that until I start getting really lonely. It does take a while though! Cats are good company 😆 2y

“So much of anxiety was anxiety about having anxiety. Would it come tonight? Would it suddenly wrap its fingers around her neck and warp the world, now, at the moment when she should be happiest? Would the universe crunch itself into a ball and ping itself right between her eyes?”
For a murder mystery series, the periodic examination of anxiety disorders are spot on, and all the more timely, what with :gestures at the world:.

I enjoyed the mystery and I enjoyed the twist at the end and how she keeps bringing up more questions as she provides answers to others. But, I feel like there was a whole lot of book with a whole lot of nothing happening. And maybe there are things that will be revealed in book 3 that will make that relevant. There was just something that was okay about this one and not as great as the first.
