I‘m sure you have probably thought about the question “who are the 5 people you would ask to your ideal dinner party?” This is the story of such a dinner party and the main character has included Audrey Hepburn! The author read the book for the audio, and she did not add to any enjoyment. There were a few touching moments and a surprise reveal from one of the guests. That being said,it‘s still a borrow rather than buy in my opinion. #evenwithaudrey
Extremely fictional but the beautiful telling of lives that were always intertwined.
I started this book as audio read by the author. She is sorely lacking in narration skills - I bailed. I moved to print because of an upcoming IRL bookclub. I was invested in the last half so it could be my first book that moved from a pan to a pick.
For this pic I looked through my shelves for 5 IRD (in real dead!?) folks in which to dine for an evening. This dinner could prove interesting!
On to a new Playaway! Started while cooking dinner! It is read by the author, and I think she should have hired a professional! Crossed my mind that I might not be able to continue! She‘s not a Neil Gaiman, if you know what I mean. 🙂

Little bit of a slow reading month. I didn‘t get as many audiobooks in this month either so that‘s a factor. The tagged book was my favorite from this month.
Haven't been reading a whole bunch this summer... bc you know... it's summer... but I'm hoping to finish this up soon. I'm really enjoying the concept and how the story goes from Sabrina's life to the dinner and back. If I had more time to sit and read, I probably wouldve flipped through this a lot faster than I have bc it is interesting.
I finished this in one day. On the surface it‘s a story about Sabrina and her 30th birthday dinner with her theoretical dinner list companions - her list of the 5 people she would most like to have dinner with. I went into this thinking that it would be a light, fluffy read. Then I was concerned that i wasn‘t going to like the main character. I ended up being wrong on both counts. It‘s a story of love, loss and beautiful second chances.
Thank you so much @bookish_wookish 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I love Titanic and I‘ve been wanting to read this book for a while!! Thank you so much!!
And thanks to @kstadt929 for putting together such a great swap!
Very good. Loved this from start to finish, especially due to the twist in the middle which I didn't see coming. Don't be fooled by this cover as it will leave you with tears in your eyes by the end of this book as it covers issues that will leave you reeling and make sure that you are thinking about this long after you have finished it. Thank you #Readersfirst for the free copy
I picked this up expecting it to be light and frivolous based off the ever popular question of ideal dinner guests. What I found was a deeper exploration into grief, love and living with loss and abandonment. And Audrey Hepburn. Honestly, it was quite well done, kept my interest and moved quickly. It was a great palette cleanser after the books I have been reading lately and I definitely recommend it. This would make a great book club read.
I haven‘t had a beer in ages and I am drinking this one too fast before pizza comes out of the oven, so i feel a little wheeeee! 😆 Enjoying this book more than I expected. I have to finish it tonight so that makes it much easier. (FYI both #Edith and #Chloe are purring away here 😻) #catsoflitsy #tuxedokittiesoflitsy @MinDea
#Chloe chilling in my lap for neck scritches, and my next two book club books - it took forever to get the tagged one for Wednesday, so I put Exit West on hold for March and it came in right away.
We‘re supposed to bring our list of five dinner guests to this meeting and I can‘t decide who to pick... right now it‘s my old friend Mary, Gabby Bernstein, Kurt Cobain, Jenny Cruise, and Anne Sexton. Your list?
Giving up on this in audio form. BUT there may have been a couple of good nuggets in here...I couldn't really tell since she was speed-reading, formed EVERY sentence as a question, & never paused at proper punctuation. So I'm going to give it one more try when my eBook hold comes in. I'm annoyed she didn't hire a professional. Glad I know I have a great TBR lineup because this could have put me in a reading slump!
So close to DNFing this one! I originally wasn't too interested in it but kept seeing reviews where people loved it & it made them cry & something about a twist. I started it yesterday since the loan is due back soon. I just wanna know why in the world did this author narrate the audiobook?! Who told her this would be okay?? It's TERRIBLE!! She sounds like a 16yr old valley girl with slurred speech & doesn't finish sentences.🤧
I bailed sooner than I usually would.... actually, it‘s only recently that I‘ve started to allow myself to bail on a book. I just wasn‘t feeling it. I felt like the fragments of the book were jumping around in time and from topic to topic even within a paragraph. I wasn‘t feeling the emotion between the couple and every other sentence seem to be pointless. Just wasn‘t for me. Though I did like the premise.
WHEW! Success! I could not have complete this successfully if my family had not been out of town, leaving me to a silent household with plenty of reading time. Finishing up was tough because I am not 💯 loving this book so far. Thanks to #24in48 and #24B4Monday for the inspiration.
Didn‘t love this. The MC drove me bonkers with her whining and crying. The “twists” were boring. The everything is happy and the world will be grand ending pissed me off. The idea of the book is interesting but it was poorly executed and the writing wasn‘t all that great.
Super cute love story of Sabrina and Tobias. Loved the premise of the "dinner list" because i think weve all played that before. Thought it was a little slow in the beginning but it got better and i usually do not enjoy romance.
