Why attempting to help her friend, Belinda, our heroine gets ordered by the queen to go to a meeting in Italy to check up on her errant son and Wallace Simson. Needless to say, murder and mayhem ensue.
A fun series, which often makes me laugh out loud.
pickI love Georgie but I get highly annoyed that 11 books in she seems to have had little character growth. Say Golly one more time! That and the fact that I find it highly implausible that she and Darcy still have not done the deed after 3 years. Maybe I just have a dirty mind! Other than that I did really enjoy this. I can‘t believe I‘ve sped through these audiobooks so fast! 4⭐️

pickGeorgie is in Italy and the mysteries keep coming. She‘s at a former schoolmate‘s house party to keep an eye on her cousin the prince. But she‘s also trying to help her friend who is in the area for “her health”. Fun and neatly tied in to 1930s events but I do hope the next book is actually the wedding at last.
Yay, I somehow already reached my Goodreads goal for the year! I was a little apprehensive about setting my goal so high knowing I was going to have a new baby to take care of, but I‘m glad I did. Plus, reading is the only thing that keeps me sane these days! 🤯🤪
pickBook 11 in the Her Royal Spyness series is another solid entry. This time, Georgie is off to Italy to do a little task for the queen. Naturally, somebody drops dead. I‘m really looking forward to the next book in the series. There had better be a wedding! 😳

Last March when we celebrated audiobooks here I posted about my talented and beloved friend Katherine Kjellgren, narrator of over 200 books. Last month Katy died after a long battle with a rare form of cancer. I couldn‘t bring myself to post this news here sooner because I‘m heartbroken and because I know so many of you know and loved her voice. She‘s nominated for a 2018 Audie Award for this book. Audible posted this tribute.
pickWith that, I'm completely caught up with Her Royal Spyness series. I'm a bit at a loss now for what to listen to next. This one was splendid. The strongest book in a while. And we are slowly marching towards WW2 and it's showing in the plot. I wonder when Bowen will decide to end the series....

This latest installation has Georgie solving murders in Italy, fending off advances of German suitors, extracting her mother from a sticky situation, supporting her friends in troubled times, stealing time to be with her fiance, and spying on her cousin the Prince for his mother the Queen of England.
All in a day's work, eh?

Without giving anything away, all of our favorite Georgie circle is here, and it's based on real events that happened in 1935. I had a wonderful time reading this last night and am only sorry that it's already over and now have to wait another year for a new story! 4.5 ⭐️
