My first free #Audible listen courteously supplied by the author and #AudiobookBoom for an honest and unbiased review. Can‘t wait to start!
It‘s about the turbulent Irish history between 1916 - 1925, especially focused on the 1916 Easter Rising.
This may be a new top five favorite book!
It is a wonderful commentary on modern society and how women must be “figured out” and fit in the role of being a wife/mother OR a high-achieving career woman.
For the MC, her friends, family & coworkers all can‘t figure out why she‘s thirty-six, unmarried, no children & has a dead-end job. Spoiler alert: It‘s because she doesn‘t owe it to them to be “figured out.” ✊🏻 This book speaks to me!
I‘m on a mission to finish all the books I‘ve started and this one is now checked off that list! Finished this #audiobook this morning. It was good, but not as funny as I expected. His tone is so dry and lacks any inflection that it become a bit monotonous to listen to after a while. He‘s completely self deprecating and some of his stories were entertaining though. 3/5 ⭐️ // #memoir #audible #nonfiction #davidspade
Litsy won't seem to let me add The Gifts of Imperfect Parenting since the title is so similar to Brene's original book. No biggie. This was a short one I picked up during the #audible Mother's Day sale. I'm really liking Brene's work so far and I'm looking forward to reading more from her. I've watched pieces of her Netflix special and I swear, at certain points, I felt she was talking about me! #parenting #selfhelp
