I like the characters
Ok, so I put off reviewing this book for nearly a week. This book‘s score is really low, and very few people seemed to have liked it. But I loved it. I loved the world and the characters and the plot. I was totally drawn in and intrigued and thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This was my first ever Owlcrate that I read and I was not disappointed. I loved it. I‘d tell everyone to read it if I could. But then again, I seem to be in the minority.
This ended up being a real disappointment. It sounded so intriguing and I loved getting a YA fantasy from a new kind of cultural background and lore and language. But even the basic genre here was muddled—a mix of sci-fi and vague fantasy that never fully worked for me. It‘s also quite slow—very little actually happens other than the very beginning and ending, just a lot of dresses and walking and traveling. The insta-love was....no. Sigh. 2/5 ⭐️
Gotta say, I usually like Owlcrate‘s exclusive covers, but they totally whiffed on this one. The original is this gorgeous deep purple (my favorite color) with the gold lettering and design. Not many purple books out there! But for some reason, Owlcrate decided to just change it to plain old black. Like...........whyyyyy tho?? I don‘t get how they thought this was better. But oh well! Hopefully the story inside is more exciting. #nowreading
So this was my first book of 2019 and I was a bit disappointed. I love the Moroccan Sci fi world that the author created but I found the plot weak and slow. It is obviously going to have a sequel because of the lack of ending but I feel it she had tried to make it a stand alone novel it would have worked better.
I‘m bailing on Mirage. I think I just need a break from YA for a while. They‘re all starting to sound the same to me. #OwlCrate
✨It took me so long to read this book.. I couldn't really get in to it.. I can't really do even a decent review of it, because I can't remember half the book. Mostly finished it to satisfy my OCD. #owlcrate 💜

Oh, wow. This is a stunning, lush futuristic fairytale that grips you with its beautiful language from the first page and doesn‘t let go till the last line. You come for the poetic writing; you stay for the heart-rending plot, and the enchanting, refreshingly nuanced characters. A powerful, mesmerizing story about the power of faith, love, heritage, and hope in the darkest moments of oppression. ★★★★☆.
3.5 Stars. Overall, Mirage was an average read. It wasn‘t the spectacular sci-fi fantasy I was hoping for, but it wasn‘t bad either. I would recommend it for fans of the genre, but it may annoy readers who tend to read mostly ya. Mirage would also be ok for younger ya readers, which is something so many books are lacking today. I did enjoy the story, but I may or may not read the sequel to this good, but slightly bland read.
Yay for the September @owlcrate box! Loved everything in it. Especially the Harry Potter mug 😍😍😍. Who else got this box and what was your favorite item?
Book number 58 of my year. Once again this is an Owlcrate subscription box find. I‘m so happy I chose this subscription box because I‘ve read so many books that I would have never read had it not been for Owlcrate. Seriously have read so many amazing stories this year and I am so grateful for the adventures. Gonna start this one because I can‘t sleep lol it‘s currently 2am 🤦🏻♀️📖🤓
Both of these are from subscription boxes. One has beautiful purple spayed edges (fairyloot) and the other is a nice black (owlcrate). I really like them both but feel like I should have 1 copy but I can‘t decide. And I can‘t take off the dust jacket because they‘re not the same size. #owlcrate #fairyloot
This is my first Owlcrate and I mostly for the beautiful Harry Potter mug but I love everything that came in it.
The fingerless gloves are awesome!
Hey Littens! Got my #Owlcrate, & while I‘m super excited to read this, I‘m disappointed by the special cover. The original is a gorgeous deep purple, my fave color. To me the black is much less special & unique. Tons of books are black, so few are purple. So I was wondering: if anyone has a new, unread purple edition (smoke-free home pls) they‘d like to swap for this (signed!) one? Or you could order one & ship it to me & I‘ll send this to you?
Spoiler alert if you haven't gotten your #owlcrate box yet! But I was just too excited not to share!
I finally took the leap and tried a book box. I was not disappointed with the Masters of Disguise theme that Owl Crate went with for the month of Sept! The book looks amazing and that Harry Potter mug? Um...I think it just became my new favorite cocoa mug! I'm also looking forward to the cooler weather when I can wear the fingerless gloves. 🍁
I HAVE SOME SERIOUS INTENSE EMOTIONS ABOUT THIS BOOK! I NEED THE DAMN SEQUEL!
Damn, I've never been so pro a romance in such a short period of time! Legit, really good relationship development overall and really curious for the world and politics to expand...plus I'm always a sucker for a rebellion.
Who else woke up this morning and decided not to work? No ambition today at all so I'm puttering away at my desk and starting a new #audiobook I'm not a sci-fi fan but I hear good things about this one and hope that the fantasy elements hold my interest.

What a fun adventure Into a new world. The story follows Amani as she is kidnaped and then forced to be the body double to the princess Maram. There is adventure, angst, passion, love and intrigue all rolled together in a captivating debut novel. I will be looking forward to more from this author in this story line. 4🌟
