On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered. "Life will never be the same." On the night you were born, the whole world came alive with thanksgiving. The moon stayed up till morning. The geese flew home to celebrate. Polar bears danced. On the night you were born you brought wonder and magic to the world. Here is a book that celebrates you. It is meant to be carried wherever life takes you, over all the roads, through all the years. This debut picture book by Nancy Tillman has touched the hearts of readers of all ages, from the youngest readers, to new mothers, to grandparents. A New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestselling book, On the Night You Were Born is sure to be a beloved addition to family libraries.

#Movember Day 1: #Cherish is the word that best describes Nancy Tillman‘s picturebooks. This is the perfect book to give to a parent who has just given birth, or a parent‘s gift to a newborn child – to be read again and again to the new addition in the family.

Suet624 You‘re so right. This particular book is a favorite of Gracie‘s and is read before every nap. 1mo

#UCFLAE3414F19 On The Night You Were Born is a beautifully written Poetry book by Nancy Tillman. This book is a New York Times bestseller. This book is about how special each and every one of us are. I think it would be great to do a RA for this book so that you can make it come across very meaningful.

Jewelwinkler The UDL strategy I would use for this book is 7.3 (minimize threats and distractions) because I think this book would be best understood with full attention. 2mo
Jewelwinkler The EL strategy I would use with this book is number 3 (encourage self talk/ positive thinking) since this book is all about how amazing it is to be yourself and number 10 (teach think, pair, and share strategies in cooperative groups) since I would ask the students HOT questions after I‘ve read the book. https://www.nancytillman.com/books/night/ 2mo
Lrobertson I love your link to strategy 3! It is so important to give kids confidence when learning!!! 2mo
fabozzia This looks like a cute book! And it‘s always important to remind students that everyone is special and important. 2mo

I read this book to my 3 month old almost every day. He loves the illustrations right now and I know he will grow to love the words. #NancyTillman is by far my favorite children‘s author.

#UCFLA3414F17 On The Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman. It is the story about the birth of a baby from different animals and people.

ProfessorOak Link http://msue.anr.msu.edu/uploads/236/57246/On_the_Night_You_Were_Born.pdf I would used UDL 1.3 offering alternatives for auditory information. #UCFLA3414F17 2y
ProfessorOak I would use ESOL 6 strategy continually monitoring students comprehension. #UCFLA3414F17 2y

Young children‘s picture book... 💕

Kaye This reminds me of a local tv show that was on when I was a kid. The character‘s name was Barnaby. At the end of every show he always said “If anyone calls, tell them Barnaby said hello. And remember that you are the nicest person in the whole wide world. “ 2y
