Starting this #behemoth
This was a book that my library recommended in my personalized reading list. I liked what the ancient horror is and its abilities. Would‘ve liked to learn more about how it came into being.
The most frightening part is there are real life people that are as idiotic as 4 of the 6.
I do think there are a few plot holes, so a 3/5 stars for me. #horror #idiotas
Yooooo the best YA I‘ve read in years.
This book is about a young women that lives in the ghetto and just her everyday life. Dad in jail, mom going through “boyfriends”, and her brother taken into foster care. Love how Ms. Ramos portrays all the different aspects of poverty (the MC‘s bff takes care of her 7 siblings)
Definitely a book all teenagers should read.
If I wasn‘t reading this book for my dad, I‘d probably put it down. I really want to like it, but Lila is annoying the shit out of me.
A love triangle, a girl that is ~magical~ and powerful with no proper training and a great thief... then her captain is okay with her sabotaging him?!!
Lila is a shining example on why I stopped reading YA... and this isn‘t even YA (technically).
The recent #readingenvy #podcast discusses teenage pregnancy and adoption. I placed for adoption when I was 16 ( 10 years ago) and am glad to here this topic talked about more. I personally haven‘t read the book(s) talked about, but they sound like good reads and are accurate portrayals of the “experience”. #adoption

The book is a nonfiction... memoir? About Alice Dreger and her activism regarding intersexed folk. She examines the history of it, current issues, and activism itself.
First heard about it on the reading envy podcast for #scienceseptember #intersexed #science
