Tagged book was my favorite from 2022 - I actually cried at the end - it was not what I expected and just beautiful.
Looking forward to seeing what this year brings -
#ReadingBracket2023 Thanks for the graphic @chasjjlee 👍
Make a great day everyone 😊
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView
1. Several books (always one audio)
2. Tagged is my favorite this year so far; bailed on The Obsession by Nora Roberts
I know it's no longer Wednesday, but I'm curious @rwmg -I saw your recent pan🤣 but what is your best book this year?
Make a great day everyone 🍂
I loved this story about Frank and his love for music, but only in vinyl form, and Ilse who befriends him and finds new meaning in her life.
#ThinkPositiveBePositive thanks for the tag @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
The tagged book is filled with beautiful quotes (see above) - and it is definitely my July pick, probably best of year -

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Something different for me (not horror) - it's a love story about a couple, about friends, about family, but mostly to and about music. It tells the story of the way music helps people heal, come together, connect, communicate. It is a beautiful story and beautifully written. I cried as I read the ending (I can't remember the last time I cried when I read a book).

I might try this PBS kindness bingo (for kids, but I think I could work on this too!)-
My August #BookSpinBingo list @TheAromaofBooks - with the belief that I will finish tagged book as part of @Andrew65 #20in4 readathon (raining today so plenty of reading time) -
Make a great day everyone 🙂
2 years ago I quit all my big box subscriptions, and all of my social media - I was going to shop local and interact face to face - this was in January/February of 2020 - we all know what happened next!
I found Litsy - a great way to connect with people in a positive way - so grateful it was here and still is - thank you all for being a part of this community and helping me start my day with a smile.
Make a great day everyone 🙂
1. I don't like noise in the background (no tv/music and definitely no talking to me) 2. I think a first edition of Carrie by Stephen King would be nice to have.
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. Quirky characters, sad stories, but ultimately a happy ending. Great musical description! That was the real draw of this book. It was easy to read and be in the story.
My evening reading stack!
I got my #lmpbc round 13book back in the mail a couple days ago. Thanks.
@Kangaj1 @BookishBelle @babyruth2510
Frank owns a music shop that sells only vinyl records. The author goes back and forth between current day and little snippets of Frank‘s youth and learning about music with his mother Peg. Oh how I wish Peg was real and I could listen to the Hallelujah Chorus with her and Frank. I enjoyed the characters more than the actual story but it is worth reading just for the descriptions of the music.
I didn‘t have another pic of this book and I have already packaged it to mail to @babyruth2510 for #LMPBC. Sorry it‘s a little late. So I thought I would post a pic of my cat instead. #CatsOfLitsy Anyway, the book was good, a soft pick for me. It had a lot of heart and was a quick read.
My Dad passed away last week. I spent the past week in California clearing out his place with my sister. Today I am grateful to be home eating breakfast in my jammies. I didn‘t get to this #LMPBC book as soon as planned but I‘m going to get it read and in the mail asap. Today seems like a good day to sit on the couch and read.

@babyruth2510 @Kangaj1 @BookishBelle
This took me a little bit to get into, but I did enjoy it. There is a Spotify playlist that goes along with it and I found it a nice touch to have that playing in the background as I read the book.
I love Rachel Joyce's whimsical and witty writing! The Music Shop is a great book for music and rom-com lovers. Frank owns a vinyl record shop and has a...magical?...ability to determine the music his customers need. Interspersed throughout the novel are memories from his childhood in which his mom teaches him about music. Frank is the only dimensional character. It's a feel-good, healing vibes book. 4.5 stars

“Music comes out of silence and at the end it goes back to it. It's a journey. You see?”

This was an absolute gem of a novel. I wish I had read it sooner. If you want a nice story, especially after reading something heavy, this is the book for you. The community of characters are lovely. If you like Mr. Holland‘s Opus and Notting Hill you will like this book. I read it straight through. It would be great to read it snowed in or on a beach or in a little cafe. Just make sure you have away to listen to all the music mentioned.
I‘m in!! My goal is 8 hours of reading. Not a lofty goal, but hopefully one I can meet. The tagged book is my current read.
#AnyWayYouReadathon
Owner of a vinyl-only #music shop, Frank has a #magical ability to intuit just the right record for each customer, except for the mysterious Ilse Brauchmann. Frank recalls his quirky mother's lessons as he tries to help Ilse and hang on to his failing business amid his changing neighborhood and his own emotional struggles. Loved this ultimately uplifting tale of the healing power of music. @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @TheKidUpstairs #InspiredNewYear
I loved this. Heart-warming, quirky, it speaks to the power of kindness, and community. Well-written, and interesting, this was a feast and I loved every page. 5/5
This book made me remember why I love The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. Joyce is such a great writer. I love when a character‘s compassion is their superpower. This was such a feel-good story, and yet the writing is so powerful.
Slight play on the #SongofLove theme with a love story centred around a music shop. Very cheesy ending but secretly loved it!
#FlyHighJuly
What a quirky, fun, and fulfilling story. It doesn‘t quite go in the direction you‘d think or really take the route yours expect, but gets you to where you need to go, much like our hero Frank. I quite enjoyed it more than I expected. With all these characters I could definitely see this turned into a movie with a fantastic sound track!
Love a good quote about love! ❤️
Thoroughly enjoying this book more than I expected. A little sad I waited so long to pick it up.
Time to start going through the BOTM shelf. Will knock it out chronologically. First up: The Music Shop!
So far it‘s cute, can see it as a quirky British movie like Notting Hill.
"And of course the silence at the beginning of a piece of music is always different from the silence at the end ... Because if you listen, the world changes. It's like falling in love. Only no one gets hurt. "
From my TBR pile; I loved The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry so hoping I will enjoy this one too!
#MusicalCover #MagicalMay @Eggs
This was an enjoyable book, set in a record shop. An unusual love story is the core of the book.
#MusicalCover
Loss of community as shops closed down and enjoyable story of saving it. Heartwarming but not melodramatic. Story of hope
This book is about a run-down vinyl music shop owned by Frank, who has a knack for finding the music people need to hear, and whose life is turned upside down when a young woman appears one day. It is full of intricate and interesting characters and explores how music can make you feel if you truly stop to listen. I loved it.
