pickI enjoyed this slow burn Romantasy overall. It has inspiration from Peaky Blinders but the magic systems is reminiscent of The Last Airbender and some other supernatural creatures. This is a very slow burn romance and the first half is quite info dumpy as this is the first book in a series. I really liked our protagonists and I look forward to continuing the series.
so-soBook club may 2025 Difficult start for me. Got better as I read it. There are other books to follow wish it had a different ending! Never know what the content of the other books are.5/10 just not a vampire book lover👹

pickYay! I finished a book. I have been struggling to read this month. We had vacation in the beginning and work has been crazy.
This was my #bookspin for the month. Juliette Cross writes many different types of books and stories. This one is about Una who is a light fae, gets captured and tortured and once saved, her father starts a war. Goll knows his destiny is to overthrow his father and rule the world. It is a Romantasy.

so-soWas it a masterpiece? Definitely not. And honestly from the jump, a story around a ‘Frost King‘ had me cringing a bit (felt a bit too middle school villain to me).
That said… for the first days of summer vacation, it did hit the spot. Entertaining enough for days where reading was my only goal. 😊☀️📖
pickI really enjoyed this book but didn't realize until the end that we wouldn't get a wrap up some key points and that there would be a sequel... that doesn't seem to be out yet.
But I did enjoy this one.... it felt kinda like cozy fantasy but with distinctly more plot than they normally have. Will definitely pick up the sequel and I dearly hope Sybilla shows up again.
