That‘s womanhood, I suppose, both craving and feeling repulsed by attention.
Although I found the two main characters incredibly irritating, the storyline on this carried this book. Decent read, but don't expect to empathize with the characters
Enjoying my current read with the football 🤓☃ï¸âš½ðŸ¦¬
This one just didn‘t do it for me. I didn‘t really like the characters from the beginning and the ending felt rushed. It was a quick read though. I just wanted more! #192025 #2021 @Librarybelle
Did you know, the are over 7,000 unsolved murdered every YEAR!? Meaning there are likely around 7,000 new murderers a year walking among us thinking they got away with it... terrifying, right?! I was getting serious Roommate or Single White Female vibes from this one. Without revealing too much, this book asks us, “can you really trust anyone to help you get rid of a dead body?“
This #Mystery thriller that I read earlier this month used #Clues to figure out what really happened when two girls go on vacation together and a man ends up dead.

Quick read that was a bit too neat and tidy. There were a few twists but nothing too shocking or that wasn't slightly predictable.
Overall though for a thriller it was good. The suspense starts early and keeps delivering throughout.
If you're looking for a quick read that isn't too gory or descriptive this one works. Just don't expect it to deliver anything new for a thriller.

The ending was a little too neat and tidy for me, but it‘s about the journey, not the destination. And the journey of reading this book is so. Freaking. Fun.
I really don't even know how to feel about this book. This was my follow-up choice right after reading Verity, maybe that was the mistake. Verity was so crazy, unpredictable, and twisted that I was expecting that again. We Were Never Here was a little too predictable for me and the story line drug a bit for me. The characters were incredibly unlikable and a little annoying.
It wasn't awful, just not what I wanted/needed.

This is right on the line between the pick and so-so for me. It definitely pulls you in quickly, but I wish there were more answers by the end. This psychological thriller is about two best friends on vacation. It reminded me a lot of Who Is Maud Dixon? In both books there is travel, two women, and unreliable narrator, and a slow burn plot.
This was better than I even expected it to be. Some parts were a bit slow but I really liked how this was a thriller focused on a female friendship. The writing was really believable in the dialogue and the thought processes of the main character. I felt like the ending was a bit abrupt and rushed, but it kept my interest and I liked the way the author had it all come together at the last moment.
Read in a day. Fast paced and some nice twists and turns.
Slow start, not much happened, I thought I saw the plot twist but when it came it wasn‘t as elaborate as I had build up in my head 😂 so I dno, it wasn‘t horrible and I‘m glad I finished it but overall, the story was underwhelming
Twisty and very much a roller coaster… super fast paced and kept me intrigued all the way to the end!
I worked Gaithersburg Book Festival today! I got to see Andrea Bartz speak about We Were Never Here! I was excited to hear her speak because I‘d actually read the book and really enjoyed it!
💠we were never here 💠it is a physical book 💠I have only read the first chapter but so far so good 💠absolutely not 😳

Thanks for the tag @JenReadsAlot @KateReadsYA … I tag anyone who wants to play but hasn‘t!
This was an entertaining listen, with all the twists and turns. Weak women frustrate me though, and I found myself irritated, more often then not. If you‘re looking for a strong female protagonist — this isn‘t for you. There‘s also a repetitive quirk where the lead character exclaims “Stop. Stop. Stop!†You get tired of hearing it every chapter or so (or at least I did.) This is a good book, but stops short of being a great one.
Ending was unexpected...just took a little too long to get there.
Listened to this one. Thought it was good, kept me guessing.
5ï¸âƒ£ Starting covid isolation today so will be on the sofa lots 📚 I began reading this last year but got distracted, about 100 pages in now and intrigued to see how this unfolds! #wewereneverhere #andreabartz
Whizzed through this in 2 days - sinister in places and totally captivating!
#ThingsinCommon Both books were Reese‘s Book Club picks! 💖

I‘ve been in a book slump and have DNF‘d so many, but this one made it better. Enough twists and turns to keep me interested.
There was so much potential here but the opportunities to explore darkness and set up interesting unreliable narrator twists was ignored in favor of tropes and needless repetition (“Stop! Stop! Stop!â€). It gets a so so just because I flew through it wanting to know the end, hoping I‘d be surprised. I wasn‘t.
I would have bailed, but it's for book club.
Very slow start, lots of boring sections, terrible dialog, kind of got interesting near the end, but the ending was garbage.
The 1st and last 50 pages of the book are well written and very engaging. Atmospheric and wild. However, the pacing in the middle was pretty rough. I felt for a thriller that this moved very slowly.I couldn‘t wait to get to the end of it because I wanted to know how it ended but it took Emily so long to discover the truth about Kristen. But perhaps what Emily discovered isn‘t even the truth. With this book and it‘s unreliable narrator.. who knows?
Just about a pick. Just when you think you‘ve figured it, another few twists. Interesting enough to have to read to the end.

I think the ending of this book has been obvious nearly all the way through, but still need to know how we get there!
I had no idea what to expect from this book. I picked it from the library solely because it was on a recommended book list. I‘m so glad I did! This book is a mystery/thriller that keeps you guessing until the last page. The main character finds herself involved in a series of crimes, a boundary-less best friend and a hard time finding fact from fiction. Great read!
This started out really good. Fast and intense. But honestly, there's only so long you can keep that up without really adding anything to the plot, and by the end I was just ready for it to be over.
**note, this is not my favorite genre, so others who love this sort of book might feel differently.

I finished this one a couple days ago but it‘s been spinning in my head ever since. This is the story of two friends turned enemies over the terrible secrets they share. It kind of plays out as: Who‘s the psycho bitch? You decide! This thrilling read about gaslighting had me questioning my own sanity with all the turns it took. Personally I am not against WTF endings but make it make sense 😅
January reads - I had a hard time getting back into reading since October. It was a month of thrillers #january2022reads
Up next on audio! 🎧
I backpacked across Europe with 3 girlfriends in college, so I‘m excited about the premise of this one!
I want a fan. It started good and I was excited to keep reading. Then it just got boring for way too long. The ending was more exciting but once the action started back up it was like the author just wanted to keep us confused instead of telling the story. âï¸âï¸
If you enjoy true crime podcasts, get this one in audiobook form. The narrator does an excellent job telling the story, I often forgot it was fiction and started to piece together details like I do when I listen to podcasts. The twist comes pretty early in the story so I was a bit let down by that but it still held up.
I read this in 2021. I really enjoyed it. Gave me My Sister, Serial Killer vibes. This one is Road-trips Gone Wrong. Quick and exciting. Glad I read it.
1st review of the year! This audiobook started out as a pretty intriguing thriller - an attack, murder, a coverup, and more! - and then transitions into more of a mystery as we try to unravel which of these two friends is telling the truth about what happened, what secrets are they both hiding, and which friend is in more danger from the other. The “twists†were pretty predictable and the ending was just confusing. Feeling generous so 🌟🌟🌟🌟
An addictive psychological thriller about best friends Emily & Kristen who cover up a murder while on vacation in Chile after one of them is attacked. The previous year they found themselves in a similar situation. Do they have terrible luck or is something more sinister at work? Really enjoyed this one.

I really enjoyed this thriller, the kind you want to stay up all night reading. And the ending.... 🤯🤯🤯 ...I still don't even know what to think 3 months later!

@Andrew65
In this thriller, two best friends backpacking together accidentally kill another traveler after one of them is assaulted. But what if it was not really an accident?
I enjoyed listening to this thriller about two friends and their relationship. Which one is a murderous sociopath? How reliable is the narrator? Which friend is the controlling force in the relationship? The plot doesn‘t always hold together, but it kept my interest. This will be one of those fun books that I spent some enjoyable hours with, but will soon forget. Does anyone else enjoy thrillers and mysteries as quick comfort reads?
