I‘ve never read Lily King before. This is today‘s reading. So far, so good.

This book argues that romantic partnership is a biological and evolutionary imperative and that our partners are responsible for our emotional well-being. It also only contemplates monogamous, heterosexual coupledom. That said, the descriptions of anxious attachment were generative for me, as was some of the advice on “secure” conflict resolution

Such a well written novel that took a turn I wasn't expecting. With a compelling plot and well-developed characters, I read this in one day.

What a book to end 2025 with. I am both crying and wanting to open it back up and start over from the beginning. Love and friendship and heartbreak and growing up and holding on and it was just so lovely.

Every year I choose a few books I want to re-read. These are the ones I have been thinking about a lot and will be my picks for 2026!
A Dive From Clausen's Pier
Death With Interruptions
The Collector
Slaughter House 5
The Bluest Eye
5th Season
Red @the Bone
In The Time of Butterflies
Death of Vivik Oj
Underground Railroad

I loved this book way too much considering how it devastated me…
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This started out so well but I lost interest halfway and found myself switching off. Possibly better to read in print. I think I would have preferred it if there weren‘t as many character points of view, too. I was left with similar feelings as when I listened to I Want To Go Home But I‘m Already There…just couldn‘t connect to the characters and not very memorable. #10beforetheend

Good Material, by Dolly Alderton (2023) [RE-READ]
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Premise: A thirty-something failing comedian spirals in the aftermath of a break-up he didn‘t see coming.
Review: I loved this as much on seven read as first. The main male character is a bit of a man-child, but the book never suggests anything else. And, it‘s refreshing to see the flip side of the ‘cast off the unsatisfying relationship to live the life you‘re meant to live!‘ motif.⬇️
