Winter Story was absolutely adorable — the mice of Brambly Hedge get their first snow and host an Ice Ball

1. Snowblind, which I used just yesterday! 😎
2. While working from home (AKA living in the office), I noticed that the place kinda looks like crap. So I‘m going to spend the year fixing that. It‘s not very sexy or exciting, but it needs to be done! 🤪
3. Negative COVID test 💃🏽

It's immediately apparent to me how much research went into this book. You can spend a lot of time investigating the illustrations. #gazingbooks

mandarchy @SolaRaynor It really is a beautiful book. It reminded me of Jan Brett - she also does a lot of research before she creates. 3w

I love this book. It is the sequel to The Very Impatient Caterpillar. By now the caterpillar is a butterfly and they got lost. He is way out I the ocean and it is 200 miles back home. There is no way they can do that. He is anxious, scared, and a little crazed. But the help of a whale telling them, they can do it, they make it home, only to be hit with the next anxiety inducing event. This book is full of heart and full of laughs.

This year‘s Jólabókaflóð book exchange! My husband: Shoeless Joe (Field of Dreams), me: The City of Mists, my kids: Frog and Toad set and Tree. We‘ve celebrated this tradition since visiting Iceland in 2017 and I look forward to it every year. Time to curl up with our books. Merry Christmas Eve! Happy reading to all of you!

melissajayne I heard Kinsella do a reading in Chilliwack, BC about 6 or 7 years ago 4w
AvidReader25 @melissajayne that‘s awesome! I read this one almost 10 years ago when we were in Iowa and loved it. I hope my husband will too! 4w

Did I check this kids book out from the library because of possible innuendo? Yes I did. Did it have any? Nope. But this is a fun story of Hare using his smarts to feed his family. It‘s reminiscent of The Tortoise and the Hare or a Briar Rabbit story. And the drawings are exceptional.

MatchlessMarie lol that sounds like something I would do 😅😇 4w
