This was cute! If you‘re looking for a quick, cutesy, chick-lit type of read, give this a chance. The English major/ Shakespeare nerd in me truly enjoyed it despite its predictability.

While not as good as Last Time I Lied or Final Girls, it still kept me up until 3am. This page-turner is definitely worth a read if you enjoyed Sager‘s first two thrillers.

Help, Littens! I am a little under half-way through this book, and I am struggling to maintain interest. I have heard such wonderful things about this book, but, for the life of me, I‘m not sure I can finish this book. Should I stick with it?

CuriousG I just started reading this...hoping it keeps my interest as I too have heard so many good things about it. I do know that in her first novel I definitely felt there was a lull, but it was worth sticking with it. Maybe the same for this one? 4mo

Pickpick

I‘m really between a “pick” and a “so-so” because it was a bit slow to start. Once it picked up, however, I couldn‘t put it down. Full of twists and turns, My eyes were glued to the pages the last half of the book. If I had to compare it to The Last Time I Lied, I‘d say LTIL more, but Final Girls is still a great thriller.

Leah on the Offbeat | Becky Albertalli

Unpopular opinion time: I just can‘t seem to get into this book. I love Leah and her sass, but the plot just seems so trivial— I want to roll my eyes every time some silly misunderstanding occurs. I know this is contemporary YA and that some (or most?) teens can relate to the petty drama, but I‘m having a hard time with it. Does it get better? Should I keep reading?

Until 2 weeks ago, I had never even heard of this book, but when I saw it listed for $4 (thanks to the B&N book blowout), I bought it on impulse and am so glad I did. I‘m surprised it‘s listed as a “young readers” book mainly bc I think it‘s a little complex for an 8 year old, but the story is fantastic; it‘s clever and entertaining. It‘s a little slow to start but quickly picks up.

I‘m not quite sure how I feel about this book. On the one hand, I found myself reading it just to get it over with, but, on the other, maybe I‘m just not at a place in my life where I can appreciate it. Honestly, my favorite part of this book is the cover. The content just kind of fell flat.
