A dream-bending, riotously queer fantasy that is glorious in every way. I'm here for all of it; evil sorceress drag queen, tropes glore, YA nostalgia deftly wielded into something both familiar and innovative, LGBTQ romance, villainous monologues, dream-logic! I mean, what's not to love? I just want to throw confetti at it and recommend it to everyone within shouting distance! Exploring the subconscious with a super relatable protag! Love it! 🌈🎉

TheIntrovertedDodoBird Plus, it's one of the prettiest books on my shelf! Kudos to the cover designers whoever they may be! 🌈🎉🏳️‍🌈 1mo

There were a lot of quotable moments about this book, but the ending felt really rushed. While I recommend it for the writing, I‘m not sure it will ever stick out as one of my favorites.

Wrapping up the month! For book bingo in May, really happy that I got through five reads, and DFN‘d another, so did more of my list than usual. Maybe I will get bingo one of these days. #bookspin #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks

Book #24: I chose this audiobook randomly, I think because it was on a YA fantasy list and was on sale. And omg am I so glad I did! The book was enthralling from the very first chapter, and it‘s so rare for me to actually feel immersed in an audiobook right from the beginning. The plot is so intriguing, I love the representation, and the world-building and character development are just delightful. Definitely recommend!

Question 7: Are we in a reverie right now? If so, whose? Discuss the person our world appears to be imagined by. Who has power? Who has ensured themselves the role of the heroes? How can we twist the plot to the means of those who are historically othered and marginalized?

I really liked the concept of this book but I feel like it didn't live up to it. Parts of this book felt really slow and other parts were so fast it was almost confusing. I felt like this was an okay book. 3/5 stars

I love an amnesia story.
Text: Since his grandmother's funeral, he realized that when people tell stories about the dead, they create life in reverse. What's remembered about a person becomes what's real about them after they are gone. But Kane wasn't dead yet and his story was still his to tell.

It‘s very sparkly. A kid who has lost some of his memories following a car accident finds himself in a situation where people‘s dreams are coming to life, and it‘s up to him and his friends to help keep them under control. And there‘s an evil drag queen sorceress. It‘s not perfectly written, but it‘s crazy and imaginative and sparkly enough to be worth a read if you think it might be your jam.

I didn‘t know much about this book before I started it. I saw someone on the FB Owlcrate page say how much they loved it so I decided to buy it after reading the description. I am so happy I did! I love a good LGBTQ main character who‘s powers manifest into rainbows and glitter fighting against a Drag Queen villain. The imagination in this story was amazing and kept me hooked to the story. The secondary characters are so amazing too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

That-Bookish-Hiker The story is very theatrical and maybe over the top but that‘s what made it such a great YA Fantasy. Perfect book to escape into especially during these weird times. (edited) 4y

This had a lot of elements I enjoyed but it fell a bit short on plot. I can only explain it like...you know how the second book in a lot of series is a smaller conflict that helps move forward a larger conflict/plot of a series? This book feels like that smaller conflict so as a standalone, it was a bit too simple for my tastes.

The idea of the Reverie is very imaginative. Bubble swarms of dreams / nightmares that you have to control or else they take over. Cool idea! I think some of the character execution was a little off for me. The most interesting traits were all pulled into Dean and the villain, so sadly the main character fell flat to me. The writing style is very simple and borderline childish, but it‘s an easy adventure to read! #ya #youngadult #fantasy #booknerd

This was so good! Highly Bazar and Incredibly queer 💙. The main character isn't exactly loveable but I found his confusion and mistrust understandable given his situation. The writing is beautiful and I liked many of the characters. The only thing I was less than satisfied with was that the dreams didn't strike me as supper imaginative. Beyond that it was spectacular!

9/10 💫

#129 of my year! This is the last book in my December TBR pile and I am surprised I did it lol well almost, I just have to finish it before my the year ends. The cover is beautiful and I am excited to see what it‘s got in store for me.

Caffeinated_Reader I absolutely loved this damn book. It was very captivating and sparkly. I loved the characters and their struggles and the magic of accepting one another for who and what they‘re and want. That ending was great until the last line 🤣 but I‘ll forgive it for being its own ending. I‘ll allow it lol jk but yeah this book was great! 4y

And we have another DNF! 😭 The writing is more juvenile to middle grade than young adult. The author keeps mentioning on every page on how gay the main character is. I don‘t have any issues with the LGBTQ+ community, but mentioning that on almost every page is annoying and not progressing the story. Then, the plot was not progressing either. #botm #bail #bookstagram #litsy #littens #bibliophile
