Chelsea is always a good time.

This was an interesting read if you‘re familiar with Chelsea Handler. There were some fluffy filler parts about her dogs but overall an interesting journey of someone who later in life finally decided to take a hard look inward.

I like reading (or in this case listening to) a book like this occasionally. A memoir, from a woman with a sense of humor, who puts her life experiences out there for everyone. Chelsea Handler is probably the absolute opposite of who I am. Her personality scares me, yet is fascinating. I wish I had some of her confidence. I actually got something from this book. She made me laugh out loud at some of her life observations. Not a book for everyone.

This memoir was a less raunchier more sensitive Chelsea Handler.
Some parts worked better than others. I‘m not used to a vulnerable, Chelsea.

I know she‘s a comedian but some of her self deprecating humor fell a little flat for me. Solid three star

Love Chelsea. Really disliked her first book but decided to give this one a try and it‘s so much better. It‘s still funny, a little crass but there is a seriousness and a tenderness that makes it so much more realistic and engaging. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #friYAY

I‘ve read all of Chelsea Handler‘s books and this was by far the most personal and introspective. I saw her speak on her book tour and have listened to several episodes of her podcast so there weren‘t a lot of surprises here, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it!

I love Chelsea Handler and how she is unapologetic about who she is... all of her other books have been super hilarious and all about her crazy antics. This one was different, while it had some laugh out loud moments, it was much deeper and serious than its predecessors. Although it was not what I expected I am grateful that I read it!

I picked this up because I was in dire need of something funny and was looking for a raunchy good time.

This book was a level of deep I wasn't expecting, detailing Chelsea's personal journey through therapy while learning to deal with her anger issues (which she was forced to confront after Trump's 'election' threw her into a midlife crisis/breakdown). Touching and enlightening.

Not what I was looking for, but I'm glad I read it.

To the point, this may be one of the most life-changing books that I have read. I loved her 1st show & recently started following her on social media, finding I really related to her so picked up this book and BAM. Chelsea, a celebrity comedian, in regard to personality type, is the Me that I have been trying to hide and deny. I have long been fooling myself. What an epiphany. I am an 8 and not a 2 in my newfound Enneagram language. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I relate a lot to her. Lots of people that know me even think I am hilarious when I am not trying to be. 🤷🏽‍♀️

My work lunch yesterday was so so good and healthy! I read this one so quickly that I didn't have time to post about it before finishing the whole book. I have read all of Chelsea Handler's books and this one was by far the most serious, sad, and surprising from her. There's still her usual sass, wit, and personality, but this time she explores her reactions to the world (especially the last election) in therapy & how she can be a better person.

I LOVE her and this book!! It‘s definitely getting a 5!!!

This book was so much better than I expected- I couldn‘t put it down!

This was not what I was expecting having read Chelsea Handlers previous books and in some ways it was better. It left me with quite a few questions though about how an adult can not know where a toaster is stored in her own home.

I hope to never buy comforters that don‘t fit in my washer again. Laundromats are expensive! At least I have entertainment.

I have enjoyed all of Chelsea Handler‘s book, and this one was no different in that regard. In every other way, this book was quite different from her others. In this, she takes an honest look at herself. It‘s an interesting journey to follow. If you are looking for the laughs that her other books held, this one doesn‘t provide them. If you want to begin a journey of self-reflection, this may be a good starting point.

This was refreshing to read as a therapist who happens to think Chelsea is hilarious. This book is more emotional than her past books (that I‘ve read) as she takes a deep look through therapy into what makes Chelsea herself. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my favorite Chelsea Handler book to date. It is still humorous, but it has a more serious tone at times. Handler discusses her brother‘s death when she was a child and how that shaped her personality as an adult. And it‘s always nice to know that I‘m not the only one who lost it mentally after the election of Trump. But this quote really stopped me in my tracks because I let so many people determine my mood.

“I was serious about getting help for my ridiculousness.” Funny listen so far. I have been getting into Enneagrams lately and stumbled on to an episode of her podcast all about them so it was serendipitous.

I have read all but one of Chelsea Handler‘s books and this is probably my favorite. Chelsea deals with more serious issues, like the grief over losing her older brother when she was nine and becoming a more empathetic person. I definitely recommend the audio as you could hear the emotions in her voice. The book is also full of humor. I laughed so hard during the parts about her and her dogs. #nonfiction #nonfiction19

I‘m too prudish to be much of a Chelsea Handler fan, but when I read the synopsis and saw this one recommended, I decided to listen to the audiobook. Though it sounds like an odd combination, her struggle to overcome the anxiety and helplessness she felt about the last US presidential election, her devotion to her animals, and the hard work she does with her therapist to deal with childhood tragedy really resonated with me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just finished this one..not as political as I expected, which is good. I‘m tired of politics and wanted some laughs

I‘ve always thought Chelsea was an open book when it came to her writing but this book take open, honest and vulnerable to new levels for her. This book follows a year of therapy and explores her losses in life. Her personality, the shortcomings that come with that and her need and ability to overcome these challenges.

This book was deeply personal on another level for Chelsea. I admire her for putting it all out there. (Comments)

Chelsea's sense of humor, her left of center outlooks and beliefs, her complete honesty no matter the shitstorm...I couldn't put this down.
I think she is brave to be so candid. Chelsea always follows her heart, this is full of heart, soul, humor and insight.

I‘m glad I exceeded my #24B4Monday goal this morning as my mother seems to have taken me hostage.

I stared the attached on my way to mom‘s this morning. I miss Chelsea I haven‘t read in if her books in quite some time.

This book was much different than her previous books, in that it focuses more on self-reflection, change and adaptation. I absolutely notice a progression in her personality, empathy, and maturity. And honestly, I feel like I've grown in a really similar capacity right along with her. This book still had me laughing out loud but it also tugged on the heartstrings a bit.

I‘ve read all of Chelsea‘s memoirs and it was refreshing to see this one go deeper in to what‘s shaped her and how she plans to utilize: Identification, Awareness, Modification.

Loved this book! I posted a semi-review earlier this week. Now I‘m just confirming the rest of the book was great too!

Confession: I‘ve read Chelsea Handler‘s work before and found her irritating. But I got this anyway after seeing a great review. #blameitonlitsy I am loving this SO much and getting a lot out of it... spiritually, almost... although it‘s not in any way spiritual or religious. Just makes one think.
What makes me love a book is when author recognize their privilege and do something with it! By golly she‘s doing it. ❤️

I recreated(ish) the cover of Chelsea Handler's latest memoir. Beau didn't cooperate as well, and all I had was an apple and an orange. Plus we have opposite colors. Anyways, her book is great.

I‘ve read all of Chelsea Handler‘s books and I never fail to laugh uproariously. I laughed loudly at least three dozen times, but unlike her other books, this one also made me nearly cry. Much more mature, self-aware, poignant (and a little dark at times), this book felt like the most accurate representation of Handler as a human, not a “celebrity”. You‘ll laugh out loud, then flip the page, and feel like crying. I love Chelsea more now.

After suffering a significant loss as a child, her already awkward family shifted. This memoir is a departure from her humorous essays, & while the wit is still there, this is some heavy shit. I appreciate her openness. The way her pieces came together made sense. It‘s never too late to work on yourself.

This is NOT your typical Chelsea Handler book. It is an incredibly raw and moving account of how Chelsea used therapy to work through her grief. Primarily over the loss of her brother when she was 9 but also her mother, her father, her dogs, and the 2016 election. It is still suffused with her trademark humor but it will hit you in the feels. 4🌟 and a whole box of Kleenex.
