Strategic Planning
Strategic Planning: A Practical Guide for Competitive Success | Stanley C. Abraham
14 posts | 1 read | 2 to read
The layout of the volume (order of chapters) allows readers to follow behavior disorders in very logical and thoughtful processes from legal issues, identification and assessment, to effective practices and response-to-intervention finally ending with practical issues of inclusion, working with families, and teacher preparation. Chapters can be read in order or independently since they have considerable versatility. We feel that this volume will be an excellent resource for special education professionals who teach and serve students with behavioral disorders.

If I'm going to participate in multiple challenges & buddy reads this year, I need to plan & prepare. It's not full of pretty doodles or stickers, but I can try more artsy approaches to the individual challenge pages. This is my first time using this method, but I hope it'll help me visualize what I want to read and when. The sticky notes allow me to visually stack challenges such as Queenie: #sundaybuddyread #booked2021 and #pop21
#bujo

Butterfinger I love this. Completely. This is how I think too. 3y
MsMelissa Holy crap this would stress me out 😂 3y
MsMelissa PS - this is why I don‘t do challenges. 3y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Butterfinger Feel free to use and adapt. @Book_Fiend_Melissa I totally understand. I have come to realize that I like a challenge and this is a bit like a puzzle! I've committed to finishing #booked2021 and the others are extra. If I finish 20/50 from the Pop Sugar challenge, I'll be thrilled. I'll skip a month on others if I need to catch up or I'm just not feeling the choices. I'm pretty easy on myself. 3y
Kimberlone Wow you‘re so organized! 3y
Sargar114 This organization makes my soul happy 3y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Kimberlone @Sargar114 I wish I could say I'm always this organized, but my apartment is one pile away from hoarder status without the garbage. 🤣 3y
Sargar114 @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I‘m the same way lol!!!! 3y

I haven't been doing anything creative lately so I thought all the bookish festivities for the spooky season would be a good reason to get out my colored pens & highlighters and see what I can do. There's still a spreadsheet and bookspin list in the works, but I've got some pages to help me keep track of the various readathons/prompts to maximize my points for #scarathalon2020 and #teamharkness .

rubyslippersreads These are great! 4y
Pageturner1 those look great 👍 4y

Last year my bookgroup went to planning our whole year in advance. It was so successful, we did it again tonight. Plus my sister and I successfully staged a coup and moved it back to Monday‘s. I give you our 2020 list, including our meeting locations (which, truthfully, won‘t mean anything but we picked a lot of places we don‘t normally go so I‘m excited!

I‘m following the lead of some others and posting my very tentative #WinterPicks for #Booked2020 🎉I own all 6 books which helps with my goal this year...to use at least half the books I own for challenges. I also choose 3 nonfiction picks. Can‘t wait to see what others are planning to read🤓

Sace Oooo... Who will lead us looks interesting! 4y

TrishB I didn‘t even know what that meant so thank you 😘 4y
BarbaraBB Interesting choices. Which one is set in Hollywood and which one is about learning? 4y
Sace I've got several books on Hasidim that I should *finally* read. 4y
Cinfhen @Sace I was surprised that this book was suggested for bookclub but it received an unanimous vote 4y
Cinfhen I think the author may Skype in with us @Sace 4y
BarbaraBB Thanks! I‘ll look into them! 4y
Cinfhen @TrishB a millennial author is someone born between 1982 and 2004 (the closest range to "official" when it comes to millennials) FYI ( just ask Siri) 4y
Cinfhen My pleasure @BarbaraBB 🥰 4y
TrishB Ta 😘 4y
Bookzombie I really enjoyed The Lady from the Black Lagoon and is perfect for the Hollywood catagory. 🙂 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Great picks, just as I expected! 😘 4y
Cinfhen Awwww, thanks @BarbaraTheBibliophage I choose all my Spring picks too 🙈all from books I own!!!! 4y
Cinfhen I‘m excited to hear that @Bookzombie I bought it from Audible a few weeks ago on a #DailyDeal 😊 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen I have to find some time to work on my 2020 spreadsheet. Of course, I still have several weeks. But still, I‘m anxious to make my picks! 4y

You guys inspired me! Here are some ideas from my Kindle and Audible shelves. #booked2020 #winterplan

1. The Bone Season — from my way way back Kindle section
2. When We Were The Kennedys — also terribly old and unread
3. Nine Pints — gimme more medical
4. Play It as It Lays — a Didion novel
5. Of Blood and Bone — loved book one
6. My Lost Family — a great prompt for all those free Audible Originals

ChasingOm Man, I want to read your TBR for this prompt now! 😂 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @ChasingOm That‘s the original meaning of #litfluence! 🤣🤣 4y

Cinfhen These tentative plans always make me question my choices!! All of a sudden I want to read what someone else is reading!!! Love your picks and GRAPHICS 🙌🏻♥️ 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @ljuliel So I heard ... can‘t believe I still haven‘t read it. I really try to get to my back list with reading early in the year. Then I get caught up in new releases ... 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Thanks! It‘s fun to see everyone‘s ideas, and hey, we don‘t have to call this a firm commitment. 😘#iknowillchangemymind (edited) 4y

Day 2: 2019 Reading Goals
My main goal this year is to get back my passion for both reading and writing. Here is how I plan to keep track of the books I read this year. Let‘s go!

As one does, when lying around in bed sick, I‘ve been thinking of ways to try to get through my huge tbr. With the help of Scout & Clete (he got tired and laid down), I think I may have a plan- I‘m going to have theme months- So far, I‘ve decided I need a month to work on reading next books (or finishing) series, one for BOTM backlog, one for my Star Wars backlog, & one for non-fiction. Which should I tackle first?!

Beckys_Books This is a clever idea 6y
alisiakae Start with the theme that has the smallest stack, so you feel accomplished in the first month! 😁 6y

Got my #LRC Bingo card for the 2018 Litsy Reading Challenge. And it will be a challenge; some of these categories are way out of my reading comfort zone.
Go to Jess‘s page to get the link to your own card.

Jinjer If not too personal, Which ones are out of your reading comfort zone? 6y
MaleficentBookDragon @Jinjer not too personal at all. I‘m not much into true crime. I have wanted to read In Cold Blood though. I do not like books or movies about war at all. I‘ve considered reading War Horse but I‘m afraid there will be a lot of open mouth crying for that one. 6y
Jinjer @MaleficentBookDragon Yah ditto about the war stuff. I cried all the way through the War Horse movie and play. 😂 6y

Readathons might require strategic planning but my #plans this time consist of reading my book club book and a library book. That‘s it. Every time I try to creat a list of books to read I end up derailed. This time, no serious plans. Let‘s see what happens! #30daysofreadathon

MidnightBookGirl Ditto! I'm going to tea out of town with some of my book club friends, so I'll read in the morning and evening. Just going to focus on a book or two from my October pile. 7y
AceOnRoam Good plan. Or not, so to speak. Good luck! 7y
