The first 2 parts of the book were like a beginning guide to meditation and mindfulness. I got some useful ideas from them. The last section felt too advanced for me. There was a lot of interesting things to think about.

#BookNBrunch! Enjoying a moment of peace and mindfulness while digging into a homemade egg sandwich with melted Tomato & Basil Jack, Colby, and Cheddar cheeses. Yum! 😋🍳 Happy reads & happy eats!

I especially love the section about easy ways to meditate. The suggestions are doable for beginners. Smile on the outbreath and notice the instant lifting in your mood.

A simple reminder to be present and to be kind. Certainly the world could use more of that.

Maewyn There are some wonderful videos of him teaching on YouTube that I watched while reading this. I love his very clear descriptions and explanations. 13mo

It turns out concussions can take awhile to heal. I‘m almost at a month since the accident and I‘m very limited on my screen use, but I miss Litsy!

This was a good listen, and a good reminder about mindfulness. I‘ve been meditating every day for a few weeks now and I‘m finding it very helpful in recovery. There‘s been a lot of ugly crying and frustration too. I am healing, I will heal.

This was my first book on mindfulness and it seemed to be a really useful and easy to understand introduction. What I liked about it was that it was written by a Buddhist monk who has dedicated his life to this way of living and not by someone just following the current mindfulness trend. He gives a great overview on breathing and meditation techniques and how you can use mindfulness in your everyday life, e.g. when dealing with anger.

quote
LaLecture

4 ⭐ This is a good, short book which covers many great ways to incorporate mindfulness into every day. The last part of the book is more religious, but not overly so. I enjoyed this read.

My choice for #anditsaugust #quickreads is really anything by Thich Nhat Hanh. All of his books can be read quickly, and I find that I get something different with each reread. These are my go-to comfort books.

Gezemice I read a couple and I agree, they are wonderful. I should read more! He is a joy to read and listen to. 2y

Well, apparently the Doctor's admins gave me the wrong date. The office was closed. I checked the email again. It says the 22nd of October for sure. I don't know what date it was supposed to say but that was apparently a typo. Oh well. Baby is napping now and I guess I'll read a little before trying to clean some.

This was recommended to me as a help for anxiety and PTSD related panic attacks. I just began reading it. We will see if it helps. Honestly just the act of reading helps since it focuses my mind. #anxiety #depression #ptsd #meditation #mindfulness

Thich Nhat Hanh is amazing. I get a lot out of all of his books. This one I listened to on audiobook and liked the soothing narration of Edorado Ballerini. I must admit that while I like the format (self to family to community to world), when he gets macro, I feel completely lost. I guess I have more practicing to do! 😌

katedensen I went through a HUGE Thich Nhat Hanh phase. Actually, two of them. One at age 17 and another at age 20. ❤️ 3y

I read this on vacation last summer and then sort of forgot about it. A post I came across on Litsy reminded me of it last night so I decided to dig it out and bring it with me today 🙂

I mean the book has a freakin' forward written by the Dalai Lama. THE DALAI LAMA! How can it not be great?
