Day 17 - #Inspiration #SelfImprovementSept

A heartbreaking story of the love affair between Boris Pasternak, the author of Doctor Zhivago, and Olga Ivinskaya. A true tragedy behind the timeless classic. A harrowing look at how the Russian government has treated
dissidents. Rich detail of Boris‘s secret life. Lara unearths a moving love story of courage, loyalty, suffering, drama, and loss, and casts a new light on the legacy of Doctor Zhivago.

#SelfImprovementSept - Reading Goals: I believe that I set some some reading goals at the beginning of the year as a part of my New Year‘s Resolutions, but I forgot all of them.🤷🏽‍♀️ So now what? Well, I recently came across a Buddy Reading Challenge on Booktube for The Count of Monte Cristo and I signed up. Yay! Me! I know that I have a goal floating out in the stratosphere somewhere to Read More BIG Books so there we have it...

Amiable I really enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. 9h
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks You can do it!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 8h
OriginalCyn620 I‘ve not read this one either! Maybe one day... 8h

cathipink I love this one. I need to read the full version 🙂 I didn't realize it was abridged when I read it in 8th grade. 8h
Nute @Amiable @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620 @cathipink Confession...I was trying to sneak into this Buddy Readalong without being noticed and certainly without any type of binding commitment BUT the first step was joining the group.😳 I‘m not sure that I‘ve got this. Worries about the time dedication are dripping from the ceiling. What if I fall behind? YIKES!😮 This is why I watch Jim Caviezal do his thing over and over again. He rates 👍🏽 7h
Nute @cathipink That‘s a great accomplishment for 8th grade reading. You rock! And here I am as a grown adult shaking in my boots over reading this hefty tome.😂 Yes, I‘ve done a lot of research online to make sure that I purchase an unabridged edition. I actually have the B&N Classics edition, but I think that it is abridged. 7h
cathipink I bought the chunkster one a while back... But it's still just sitting on my shelf 😬😬😬 you'll definitely be able to tell the difference between abridged and unabridged 🤣🤣🤣 6h
AlaMich I have this Penguin edition too, unread. In my defense, the print is TINY!!! 👵🏻 6h
Bklover This is one that I read a couple of years ago. I was very nervous going in but it‘s actually a really good story! I think you will find that you like it! 6h
batsy This is one of the books I keep telling myself I will read someday! Les Miserables is also on that list 😆 4h

Loved the X-Men movies but don't care for the comics. The pictures just don't do justice to richness of the characters. You are welcome to disagree. 🙃

A few years ago, I worked at a horticultural nursery, based in the middle of the countryside. I often used to be the last one to leave, sometimes quite late at night. I had an irrational fear that I‘d look up from my desk one dark evening and see a clown staring in at me. I‘ve never read this book, never seen the film. No idea where this fear came from. But it does make this a #BookThatIsOutofYourComfortZone

OriginalCyn620 Yep! Horror is not my thing either. 12h
jb72 My favorite SK book so far is IT. I‘ve seen the movies. The book is so detailed. 10h

#SelfImprovementSept Day 17: This was a fascinating read about a little-known American woman of Cuban and Spanish parentage, her bold and fearless dream of flight, and her realizing it, regardless of society‘s expectations of what a woman should or should not do - definitely an #Inspiration. My review of this gorgeous book featuring the biography of Aida De Acosta: https://wp.me/pDlzr-jV3
