It encompasses every aspect of this geographically diverse country, from the immense deserts and peaks in the north, via the fertile central valleys, to the dense rainforests and glaciers of the south. There is opportunity to discover the culture of Chile, including mummies from the 5th century BC found in the Atacama Desert and Inca ruins. Travellers can hike the Andes, savour fine and affordable wine, and venture off shore to sail and kayak. This guide details every aspect of travel, from accommodation and eating out to national parks and sailing, in this most easy of Latin American countries for independent travellers.

I am spending the next 24 hours on airports and flights traveling to the other side of the world. I am hoping 'Quicksand' will keep me entertained 😊I also have 'Jazz' as an audio backup ✈️

Leniverse I just started Quicksand last night. I think it will entertain you, but it won't last the whole trip! 7y
Daisey Just a heads up, the audiobook version of Jazz with this cover image that I listened to turned out to be abridged, although it was not clearly labeled as such. I haven‘t had a chance to compare to the text yet, so I‘m not sure of the extent. 7y
hilded You're right @Leniverse, it was a fast and interesting read. Luckily I was able to get some sleep inn too 😴 And today I was able to sit out in the sun reading, lovely to feel some summer warmth again ☀️☀️ 7y
hilded Thanks for the heads up @Daisey :) I have an older audio recording from 1993 (not read by Morrison though) which is nearly 8 hours and not abrigded, luckily. Haven't had the chance to start it yet, and the next couple of days will be busy, so I won't be able to finish it in February unfortunately. Hope you managed to find a better version 😊📚 7y
Daisey @hilded I‘ve been rereading the ebook version, but it‘s been lower priority than finishing my other reads by the end of the month. Glad to hear you liked Quicksand as well. 7y
