Ugh. I could not stand the main MC in this book and unfortunately it‘s all told from her point of view. I did like Dax a bit but Gemma was so selfish and frustrating. It‘s too bad because I really love magical realism and love stories.

I‘m not sure if I‘ve read a romantic suspense novel before. I really enjoyed this spy story. Dove gets roped into some spy CIA missions when she gets mistaken for her sister. She meets Mendez and has to work closely with him to prove her sister‘s innocence.
This was actually pretty good!
I LOVED this book. Yes, it is slow, but that‘s kinda what I loved about it. Mysteries and thrillers have made me too anxious within the last year or so, but this one I wasn‘t. I love Tana French and I really love this world she created.
This is the 2nd book in the series. It says you can read it on its own, but there are some references to the past 2 years when the 1st book is set.
This was so good! I was so lucky to get a library audio loan! It was a skip the line loan. I think I listened to this in 1 or 2 days.
I‘ve been waiting for this one to be released for a while, so glad I quickly got to pick it up. Loved it.
Set between 2 different time periods. 1 is through journal entries.
Here are my nominations for #CampLitsy24! I have so many 2024 releases on my TBR this year! And I absolutely loved this event the last couple years.
Only a couple weeks behind on reading this one. It was a quick read with lots of trouble for Nancy! Phantoms, finding treasure and horseback riding.
I LOVED this book! Might be my favorite Abby Jimenez so far! I loved all the Easter eggs in this book from her other books!
Ahh it was so good, I devoured it! Read it!
Got to hear Hester Fox talk about her new book tonight. I also met her, spoke to her for 10 seconds and got my book signed.
No photo with her, but that‘s okay. Can‘t wait to read this book!
#anunlikelystory #authorevents
I really loved this book! Babies freak me out and I‘ve never been pregnant or had a desire to, so I was worried I wouldn‘t enjoy this book. It‘s a lot of hippy birthing classes and the such. It‘s set in the Cotswolds though, so I took it as research for my trip in the fall.
This is a debut, so I definitely plan to read more from this author.
I‘m not sure why I picked this one up. It wasn‘t on my TBR.. I must have just come across it scrolling on Libby.
This is a cowboy/western romance. It‘s set on a ranch in Wyoming. Emmy is a professional horse rider and has a riding scare so she comes back home. Luke is her brother‘s best friend and she‘s looking at him a bit differently now. She has ADHD and it talks about her triggers and things like that.
I‘m not sure this series is getting better. The books are kind of just eh. This one is a low pick.
Jenna and Titus go on a house call of a suspicious person about. They smell gas so they go into the house where a bomb goes off. In the bomb is a love and binding spell. So they fall in love and can‘t be more than 30 meters from each other. 🤷🏻♀️
I‘ll read both paperback and hardback, but it‘s obvs easier to hold a paperback.
I‘ll read physical and my kindle.
I also listen to audiobooks and read print books!
Thanks the tag @Catsandbooks !
#wondrouswednesday
Finished this last night and it‘s so good! I loved it and was surprised how much I loved it. I don‘t want to say too much because it‘s my #LMPBC pick!
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. I can‘t wait to pick up the next one.
I put it in the mail today, so should be to you Kate by end of the week.
#Bookspin is the tagged book. #doublespin is a chunkster!! Didn‘t read either of my picks in March, here‘s hoping April is better.
This one was okay. Nothing spectacular. Just a second chance romance in a small town. I don‘t like how when someone is trying to be sober, they are forcing her and constantly questioning her decision to no longer drink. Just let her be. You can have fun without alcohol and drugs.
Low pick. Super spicy.
The tagged book was my other favorite read of March! Decided to do 2 different books in my 2 different graphs!
Tagged book was my favorite read for March. But sorry, it wasn‘t better than Ruthless Vows!
My picks for April‘s #botm! Feeling romances. I think I‘m going to get the new Leigh Bardugo at my indie (though it‘s not one of the indies that gets a free bookmark) so I didn‘t get it in my box.
Used Bookmory for the first time ever in March. I wanted to see my books in a calendar view!
I‘m going to have to stop finishing multiple books on the same day!
Finished 18 books in March. A lot of audiobooks.
Enjoyed this mystery set in England. An American heiress is basically forced to marry but she twists it so it works for her. There is a lot of horses and horse racing, etc. I will continue this series. It‘s the first in the series.
I had no idea what the premise of this book was going to be before I read it and it really worked for me. It‘s magical realism and I love the way the story unfolded.
I‘m glad I picked it up because I do enjoy this author.
Got this in the mail at some point last week. (I forget to check the mail). Can‘t wait to pick this one up!
I‘m still reading my March book, but hoping to finish it today and get out in the mail early this week.

Overall, I really liked this book and can‘t wait for the next one!!
Planning a vacation to London, Bath, Wales, the Cotswolds, and Oxford at the end of summer. What are some bookstores or bookish places I must visit?
I am obvs going to the Harry Potter tour and Jane Austen museum and Mary Shelley museum in Bath. And planning a Doctor Who tour in Cardiff.
I‘ve never been abroad before so I‘m super planning!
This one didn‘t have as much of an adventure as the first one did but I still enjoyed it. Spicy, have to figure out who‘s snatching girls in the village. People from the first book are very involved in this book as well. Werewolf romance!
I‘m loving this series!
Can books stop having super long titles? It‘s exhausting writing them out.
This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be. Don‘t compare to Gilmore girls and then be super depressing. Though, I guess it might slightly be on me for not reading the synopsis that closely. I‘m not sure if the author plans to write more but the way it ended, there could be.
Picked this one up because it was the March pick for #swordandlaserpodcast - I‘m not sure if audio was the best way to read this. I kept confusing who everyone was. There was also a lot of death and killing. It is a war book. Also, is it a love triangle if all 3 want to be together?
This one was my least favorite of the 3 books. The narrator was also super soft spoken, so I didn‘t really care for that. Honestly, I forgot there was a 3rd sister 😬. My favorite of this series will always be the 2nd one and Rose‘s story.
My goals for #marvelousmarch is to finish the tagged book and pick up and finish the other 2! I haven‘t had much time for physical reading lately but I‘m hoping to change that this weekend and next week.
So I was listening to a podcast and they were doing a bookish “March madness”. It‘s not pretty, but I decided to do my own #bookishmadness.
It‘s all new books being published in 2024, between Jan-June.
We‘ll see if my predictions are right or if there are any upsets! Feel free to join me. 📚📚
I actually read a book off my kindle for #readmykindle!!
This was a novella, so super quick read. A hockey player needs to get married for a green card to stay in the country to play. So he marries Britta who he‘s been in love with but she doesn‘t do relationships.
*We‘ve been rewatching community and all I could think of was Britta in the show.
I‘ve never read Tessa Bailey and this book was 🥵 🌶️
The latest Simone St. James was great! Set in the 90s, a couple is on their honeymoon and picks up a hitchhiker injured on the side of the road. When they drop her off at the hospital she dies. They become suspects and decide to try and solve the mystery of her death themselves.
I love her supernatural mysteries!
This was a fun and a bit deep romance. Addie is a travel consultant who helps companies improve their business. She goes to Scotland for her current job which she‘s avoided because of her mom‘s past. And meets Logan 😍. Loved this on audio (though I didn‘t love when the male narrator had to do Addie‘s voice).
This book just gave me wanderlust and I want to go to Scotland!
Really enjoyed this book. I wasn‘t really sure what it was going to be about. It was very obvious to me who the bad guy was. Inez gets a letter that her parents are dead, so she goes to Egypt to figure out what happened. All the characters are mysterious and have secrets that you don‘t really learn. This book also has magic.
Haven‘t been on Litsy in a while! And so behind on reviews. Picked this one up as soon as it came in the mail from #BOTM. Quick different type of romance story where they break up weddings together.
Book 11 in this series. I didn‘t realize I‘ve already read 10 others of these! This one was Greyson and Kara‘s story. Most of this story is actually set outside of the town of Nocturne Falls. This was a quick romance read.
Okay, done with reviews for today!
Low pick on this one. The MC annoyed me because she could not accept ANY help. And if she was just honest, there would have been no heartache… but it‘s a romance so there has to be conflict.
Her stepsister was absolutely the worst. This was an interesting story and set up with face blindness.
Oh boy, this one I did not like at all. I‘ve read a few Lauren Groff books and enjoyed what I read. I just did not care for this one. Sorry Lauren.
#authoramonth - Finished in February
I received my quarterly #mytbr recommendations! Anyone read any of these? This is the first I‘ve heard of them all. I asked for low on the radar fantasy books and a contemporary romance.
#bookriot
The MC drove me nuts! She gets a chance to do the past year over again and she decides to change herself completely and stop being outspoken. Also her family is awful.
I think it‘s the point of the book for her to realize she didn‘t need to change herself for a guy, but it was so frustrating to read.
I forgot how much sex is in these books, so not a great one to listen on audio. 🫣
This is the 3rd book in the series and not my favorite. Definitely had a lot more adventure and danger in it but not sure if I‘ll continue with this series.
I also always forgot these are set in Australia so it threw me for a second to listen to an Australian accent read these books!
Read in February.
I got to meet Simone St. James tonight! It was late and I was tired, so I only said hi to her. It was a great listening to her talk.
Also, look at this great cover page she signed!
#anunlikelystory #simonestjames #murderroad
I may have gone into the bookstore to pick up my online order of the Bone Shard Daughter for the final round of #lmpbc but I can‘t not browse! So I picked up the tagged book and The Tainted Cup.
Now I actually have to read my print books!! #bookhaul #fantasybooks
Kristen! Thank you so much for the book and the bookmark! I‘m so excited to read this one!
Also, don‘t feel bad. I am so behind on #litsylove letters! I also didn‘t even originally know there was a giveaway for #lastfirst so it was a lovely surprise!
Do Your Worst was my favorite read of the month but nothing will beat Ruthless Vow right now!
