ARGH! Billie is just the worst. Although, I must admit, I get the desire to drop everything and walk away from it all. Frustrating ending, but in a good way!

Mixed feelings here, but ultimately there was more to like than to not like, so I‘ll go with a pick. I didn‘t care for the paranormal portions of this…the story could‘ve held its own without them. The more I read, the more I disliked the character of Billie. The ending….there was closure, but yet not. Not sure how I felt about that.

Slow start, decent middle, kinda meh ending. Not bad overall, but not mind blowing either.

This is novel is more of a mystery wrapped in family drama than a thriller. Billie has disappeared and is assumed dead. Her husband Jonathan, and her daughter Olive, are left to pick up the pieces and try to move on. Olive begins having visions of her mom, and Jonathan discovers that maybe he didn‘t know his wife. Good story with imperfect flawed characters that kept me turning the pages because I needed to know what happened. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 /5

Starting this one next. It‘s my #bookspin for October. Hoping to finish by Sunday. I realized during the Readathon this weekend, that I enjoy books more that I immerse myself into and finish faster - meaning I spend more time reading in a shorter time frame, rather than dragging it out. I am hoping that realization helps me prioritize reading over other free time pursuits (like social media or mindless games on my phone). ❤️📚

Really good! Very twisty, but I wanted to throttle the MC, and though the ending was kinda expected, I wish it had been different. I can‘t say much without giving anything away!

This I enjoyed reading up until the end. The end is didn‘t like. The author says in it she had three different endings she tried writing and you can really tell. But otherwise I enjoyed the journey til then.

1/16/2021 Reading this book felt like work. I just didn‘t sink into this one. When an enigmatic woman suddenly disappears on a hike leaving behind a husband and a teenaged daughter, her remaining family struggles with grief while trying to figure out what has happened to her. Her daughter starts to have visions and believes her mother is still alive, so she begins to research into her mom‘s life.

Billie disappears while hiking and is presumed dead. Nearly a year later, her husband Jonathon and daughter Olive start having suspicions about her fate. This is more of a literary mystery, though not an entirely successful one, as the book bogs down in places. Also, the more we learn about Billie, the less I liked her, making me less invested in her fate. Parts are terrific, so between pick and so-so for me.

I have mixed emotionas about this one. Several pages in, I knew it wasn‘t what I was looking for. The writing, pacing, characters – all fine, just not what I wanted. I considered DNFing, but I rarely ever do that, and the plot was interesting enough that I felt I‘d be haunted by wondering what happened if I didn‘t stick with it, so I did. It‘s not fair to say this is a ‘meh‘ book, but that‘s how I felt about it.

Overall I liked this book. I really felt for this family who lost their wife/mother. I just thought Olive‘s visions were not realistic especially the way they drove the plot forward and I thought the ending was not believable. #unpopularopinion 3⭐️ #2020book15

This book has me shook, y‘all! The author has written a character that I want to choke the life out of. For you to pull me in so deeply that I feel that sort of visceral hatred toward a character...ma‘am you deserve an award. I feel for me to say which character would be a huge spoiler so I won‘t. I can not recommend this book enough if you‘re a fan of any psychological thriller that‘s out there. Just read the damn book.

Watch ME disappear into a room and spend the whole day reading. I'm about 100 pages in and I just now feel like the story is picking up. Quick synopsis: Billie goes missing while hiking by herself one weekend. Fast forward a year later and her daughter starts "seeing" Billie and is convinced she's still out there waiting to be found. At the same time, Billie's husband is learning that perhaps his marriage had more secrets than he thought.

Not my typical genre (because usually books in this genre are so badly written I can‘t stand to read them), but I really enjoyed this book! It kept me guessing until the end and I really liked the different points of view. Some reviewers on here said it was confusing, but I didn‘t find it confusing at all (but I also really dislike it when authors announce whose point of view they are using. If it‘s written well, it should be clear). Great read!

Billie Flanagan is #lost . She failed to return from a hiking trip a year ago and has disappeared from her life. From her fractured marriage, her broken daughter, and her best friend. Is she missing, or did she run away from everything? This is a thriller I read last year as an eARC ...overall, I liked the book. Hated the characters, but it kept me reading. #NoFemmeber

Billypar Sounds intriguing! When you don't like the characters and still feel compelled to keep going, you know the author is doing something right. 5y

On a solo hike through the mountains, Billie disappears leaving her husband and daughter grief-stricken. When signs start to suggest she may not actually be dead, they must come to the realization that Billie may not be what she seemed. This psychological mystery is a fascinating character study and I didn‘t come close to guessing the conclusion until 75% in and was only partially correct. I really enjoyed this compulsively readable book.

Billie is missing. She‘s been gone for over a year. Her husband and teenage daughter are left to pick up the pieces of their lives. We meet people from Billie‘s past and become suspicious of her actions leading up to her disappearance from her husband‘s point of view. Olive, her daughter, is also grabling with the mystery of her mother‘s disappearance but in a much more otherworldly way. Nicely done #audiobook 🌟

(A pick that's almost a so-so)

Finished this one off with a side of #puzzledom and cuddles from a sleepy Mortimer. This was a good piece of fiction, but it didn't truly meet the mark as a thriller. The author dives into how a missing mother, grief, and family secrets impact the people left behind. The ending didn't surprise me. If you're reading this one, I highly suggest reading the epilogue as it answers many open questions.
