This book sounds fantastic...
Words used in the blurb and reviews completely hook me... "dark imagination, spellbinding, satire, dark comedy, weird, funny, subversive, magical and knife-sharp..."
How can I resist? ??

This was an ok book for me. Nothing fantastic.
There were some elements of the story I loved and some I just found boring to read about.
I liked the ending concerning the protagonist...the part of the ending that sets up for the next novel in the series didn't catch my interest and I don't think I'll read it.

A lovely read.
This book would obviously appeal to fans of The Wizard of Oz but it could be enjoyed by anyone really.

An enjoyable book.
I didn't connect much with any of the characters and I set the book aside for some time at one point. (But that's just because I read so many books at the same tine)
Nothing gripping or exciting happens, it's just a nice easy read, a nice story.

This sounds disgustingly wonderful...how can I resist?

A book that traces the use of poison as a political - and cosmetic - tool in the royal courts of Western Europe from the Middle Ages to the Kremlin today.

It's sad he never got to finish it...
The memoir Prince was working on at the time of his death is coming out Oct. 29.

Random House confirmed Monday to The Associated Press that “The Beautiful Ones” will include a Prince unfinished manuscript.

“The book will span from Prince‘s childhood to his early years as a musician to the cusp of international stardom, using Prince‘s own writings.

Don was a great character. I smiled a lot as I read Don doing and saying things just as my son would/does.

I loved this book.
There's probably not much I can say about this book that hasn't already been written.
So I'll just say I loved it.
I wanted to know all about Kya and what happened to her...would she remain alone and lonely?, would she find her family?...would attitudes toward her change?
Absolutely beautifully written.

I've just started this Audio book...I'm loving it so far, love that it's Australian, with an Australian reading it.
I still haven't reached any emotional parts yet... I'm not feeling happy today, so I don't think I'll listen to any today.

Audio book... At first I was confused with who was who with this book but once I figured it out it was entertaining but not riveting. A bit of 'cheese' dripping from the descriptions of the characters feelings for one another/thoughts etc but not as bad as some books with a romantic relationship in the story.

How did a serial killer from the 19th century almost get away with murder?
I listened to a podcast about this woman today. I think her story will be sad and extremely interesting.

I just reserved this audio book...
Influenced by the mysterious place gingerbread holds in classic children's stories--equal parts wholesome and uncanny, from the tantalizing witch's house in "Hansel and Gretel" to the man-shaped confection who one day decides to run as fast as he can--beloved novelist Helen Oyeyemi invites readers into a delightful tale of a surprising family legacy, in which the inheritance is a recipe.

I really enjoyed this book...a fictional book (That blends facts and fiction) that ponders and imagines the thoughts, emotions and backstories of members of the crew of The Californian, the ship that was nearby as the Titanic sunk, that could see the Titanic but did not go it it's aid.

As the Titanic and her passengers sank slowly into the Atlantic Ocean after striking an iceberg late in the evening of April 14, 1912, a nearby ship looked on...the SS Californian.
The Midnight Watch is a fictional telling of what may have occurred that night on the SS Californian, and the resulting desperation of Officer Stone and Captain Lord in the aftermath of their inaction the night the Titanic sunk.

I'm LOVING this book so far.
