First finished book of 2024! Turns out I‘ve actually read it before but I think I read it when it came out in 2012 and didn‘t actually realize I‘d read it until I was halfway through. I'm usually a pretty big fan of Roberts, but this one just didn't click for me. I didn't particularly care for either of the main characters (Abigail came through as an android and Brooks was so freaking pushy, especially in the beginning, at a level where I felt like he was mis-using his position as sheriff) and for a book where she's supposedly being hunted down by Russian mafia and the FBI, the action level was almost nonexistent.

The entire book club agrees: we actually hate these end papers 😂

I enjoyed this, my third ever Nora Roberts, very much.Elizabeth lives an extremely sheltered life. A prodigy, she‘s enrolled in premed at Harvard at just 16. Escaping for one night, she ends up at a club owned by the Russian mob where she witnesses a double murder. My eyes are feeling gritty so I‘m switching to this audiobook. Elizabeth is a prodigy. Book club pick. This will be my first ever Nora Roberts novel.

Elizabeth Fitch is just 16 when she witnesses a Russian organized crime killing. I felt the plot was building up to some serious action and then was concerned the ending would fizzle. But the final twist caught me by surprise. Very satisfying.

Between driving around Christmas shopping, #audiocleaning and #audiowalking I've managed to listen to 4 1\u002 hours this weekend.

On a side note, our little local library branch had some fun with their book dropbox.

Contemplating what to do for 8 hours this weekend so I can finish this book. I started it last weekend while wrapping presents and continued during my daily commute, but still just halfway done! I can sense some serious action on the horizon and don't want to wait until Monday to get back to it.

Excited to leave for work this morning so I could continue this audiobook during my commute. Now sitting in the parking lot to finish this chapter.

Doing a little #audiowrapping since Baby Girl is out of the house this afternoon. If I leave these presents unwrapped in the house much longer she will find them.

I just got this book in the mail. It is an advance copy from Nora Roberts. So far not so bad

The plot itself is fine. Not much action and it's pack more of romance than suspense. I've listen to this 📚 and the narrator did a very good job narrating the 📚. #noraroberts #thewitness #romanticsuspense
