I don't read poetry very often but I think I will start. I enjoyed this so much. It spoke to me in so many ways like an understanding friend and I so very deeply needed this book. I needed it. It held me when I needed to be held. Thank you Rupi Kaur.
Getting ready for a weekend out of town, so I decided to finish this one today too. I don‘t read poetry often, so I was disappointed that it wasn‘t my thing. It had some amazing moments, but I thought it was too focused on sexuality to have the depth it was trying to portray.
#bookishbingo: Begins with M
1. Selfie in my baseball shirt I just happened to be wearing the day the Mets signed Jacob deGrom for five more years! 🙌🏼
3. #ctlitsymeetup and other CT adventures with @j9brown !
4. Right now pretty all over the place. Warm, sunny and humid one minute then cold and rainy the next.
5. Not sure? Probably fast food on the road to CT.
This (P), NY Times Bestseller, would be good for AS. The book includes the authors personal life events within the poetry. It can be beneficial in the classroom for students to evaluate and dissect the meaning of the poetry. UDL strategy (3.3)Guide information processing and ESOL 11. Place language in meaningful context can be used to help students analyze the poetry to complete AS. #LAE3414sp19
Sorry for the crap photo.
I am waiting at the Weezer/Pixie concert and glad I remembered to grab a book.
Since it‘s National Poetry Month, I want to read a little poetry every day. Well, the month started out on a low point for me because because I found this really meh. Only up from here, I guess.
be true to you. thank you for reminding me, Rupi.
I am taking my time reading and savoring this short book of poetry. Does anyone else feel torn at including short works like this as a part of their Goodreads reading goal? I feel like I am cheating!
This would be the first poetry book I have tried. It was good but I am not sure I am a fan of poetry.
Started this book tonight...give me your thoughts I‘m curious what all of you guys think
I don't read much poetry but these were an easy entry and I admire someone willing to put themselves out there like Kaur has. milk and honey is split into four sections; hurting (trigger warnings), loving, breaking and healing.
you might not have been my first love
but you were the love that made
all the other loves
I really connected with this book of poetry. It was short but did not lack in emotion and excellence. The writing is superior and the writing is truly powerful. This is excellent.
