#OminousOctober 9. #Moon 17. #Cozy 18. #Enchanted 19. #Sweater

Yet another personal favourite - #HarukiMurakami with another magical weird surreal rotten journey through a parallel world with two moons. 🌒🌑
My hoodie is from an artist on #redbubble - a 1Q84 design and so cozy...

Yuki_Onna @RaeLovesToRead It's so cosy! The artist's name on Redbubble is PauEnserius. Just look for 1Q84, that's how I found the design... 😊 1mo

1. Living in our world and finding yourself in a surreal dreamlike situation all of a sudden - with no idea how you slipped into it, whether what you experience is real or not or what may happen next.
Pure wonder. Or, as somebody once said about Haruki Murakami's books: 'It's like reading a dream'.
2. 🔼
3. Oh yes! I like the dreamlike sensation of strange occurrences & not knowing what's happening next...

The tagged book has some magical realism as promised in the synopsis - I surely hope so as I'd like to put this one on my #October #Scarathlon2022 and #Bookspin lists of #spookyreads ...

Thanks for the tag, @RaeLovesToRead 💕
Islands are right up my alley! 😊

1. So many... Anytime:
Japan (regardless which one - either one of the main islands ( esp. Hokkaido or Honshu again), or the Okinawan or any small Japanese one);
Taiwan
Ireland
The Channel Islands
Easter Island
Hawaii (any island)
or... Langeoog again.
2. if Japan (Hokkaido) or Hawaii: the tagged book
on Kyushu: Kafka on the Shore
on Honshu: any Murakami ... ⤵️

Yuki_Onna Continued:
*Langeoog: Shark Drunk by Morten Stroksness; The North Water by Ian McGuire (topic: rough seas) or Monster Love by Carol Topolski (thriller, first book I read on my 'adult' stays on the island)
*Ireland: I'd BUY tons of books there again: ghost story anthologies, books about Irish & Celtic myths, mythological creatures, thrillers set in Ireland.
*tropical/far away islands: any psychological thriller taking place on a tropical island.

Mehso-so

If you haven‘t read any Murakami yet I don‘t recommend this be your first. If you have already enjoyed some of his other works this is a nice one to check off your list.

I appreciate his style, because at the end everything isn‘t all wrapped up with a pretty bow. I enjoy the balance he strikes between strange and opaque. I find this book to lean a little more towards opaque, hence the So-So rating.

My first completed #DoubleSpin too!

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! 8mo

Pickpick

2nd volume which is completely a page-turner is the most interesting part.
Complications, disturbance, dystopian the speciality of the author all comes together to thrill the hell out of us.
By the end of the 2nd novel.
We get deeply involved with the world of 2moons I.e 1Q84
