The best part of summer reading? The cool breeze on my patio as I flip through pages and disregard all of my actual responsibilities.

Summer vacation has arrived!!! 🌸🌼🌞☀️ This teacher has exactly 2 weeks before the start of my summer job (teachers having the summer off is a myth). I am dedicating most of this time to reading through books I have bought and neglected. First up, “Why Not Me” by Mindy Kaling. So far, an OK read. Hoping it picks up a little in the next few chapters #teachersoflitsy #summerread

Wow....just wow. Halfway through this book and I am mad at myself for having waited so long to pick it up from my bookshelf. Anytime I see a Jodi Picoult book I haven‘t read, I buy it. And every single time, I am glad I did. Her writing is just...beautiful. This novel about the love of a mother is just...beautiful!

I‘ve lost count of how many snow days we‘ve had so far in just this quarter 🤦🏽‍♀️ This #litsyteacher is not looking forward to make up days in June, but I am going to enjoy this snow day. Highlights for Children and a cup of coffee for me ☕️ #snowday #snowedinandreading

Rachel.Rencher I forgot about Highlights! I used to love that magazine 😁 6y

Started off as a very slow read - I actually had to put it down for some time. When I picked it back up I realized that I had put it down right where it got good! Such a powerfully written book about the strength and resilience of a sexually abused child. A very dark topic portrayed in a slightly different light 👌🏽👌🏽

I couldn‘t put this book down! I was not only able to learn more about the Indian culture through this love story, but I was able to establish parallels to any and every culture. I especially loved the message at the end ❤️❤️ #kismet #fate #destiny #followyourheart

This was overall a quick and easy read. I enjoyed reading his perspective and getting an inside look at some of his experiences. However, as a teacher in a similar situation I felt like a lot of it was familiar. I can still see it being beneficial though! #teachersofolitsy #itsbeenawhile

The 2017 - 2018 school year is on its way 😓 I've made a promise to myself to continue waking up early like I did over the summer to do things I am always too tired to do after a day of teaching. I'm going to dedicate Fridays to reading! First up!! So far, a really good read.

I fell into the hype and bought this book on my nook 🤷🏽‍♀️ so far, it's been a so-so read. I'm not really hooked and I haven't really learned anything other than funny memories from his childhood. I'm not sure what I was expecting lol

Jess7 I enjoy reading celeb memoirs with funny stories so maybe this would be for me. As long as it makes me laugh :-) 7y
readingatdawn @Jess7 give it a try! It hasn't been horrible just not very "deep". I guess I was expecting more of the life lessons aspect of it. 7y
Jess7 Have you read Born a Crime? It's equal parts funny, inspiring and educational. Highly recommend it! 7y

I'm not usually the "watch the movie version of a book" person. Yet, I felt inclined to give this a try. I actually enjoyed the book and would have to agree that it's one you have to read at the right time. #movieday #chillday #friday #ireallyhavethingstodo #ishouldbereading #ohwell

LauraBrook I love this book and I like this movie! Don't know why it gets bashed so much, there's plenty more dreck out there. 7y

I've had a rather slow week for adult reading because I'm teaching pre-k this summer. By the time I get home im so tired from running after little ones all day I can barely keep my eyes open to eat 😣 However, I do read aloud every day to the babies. Yesterday we read Rainbow Fish and discussed the concept of SHARING. They loved it! Such a great story about how sharing can make you feel good inside.

I've been thinking lately... I enjoy coming out on my balcony to read, but I really would love a more comfortable reading nook 🤔 I don't have much space in my apt for any additional furniture. Should I do something out here? #qtna #readingnook #myreadingspace #comfortableread #randomthought #ideas

This is a great motivational book. At times, it felt like I was reading an autobiography, but I recognize the need for him to provide background on the advice he was giving. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It had me thinking about my life multiple times. I would totally recommend to a friend.
