I‘ve been going through this quartet on audio with my kids. We did the 5 #Penderwicks books as #readalouds in the spring / early summer, and they reminded me of the #Melendy books from my childhood!
Today we listened while working on a Harry Potter puzzle! I don‘t think book 4 is quite as good as the rest, but they‘re still enjoying it.
I think next up will be the #Vanderbeekers books! One highlight of 2020 — all the readalouds! ❤️

pick#mylilgabbi enjoys #readalouds, and she seems to like Eric Carle‘s books the most. I love that we have this set in her collection. It includes a pop-up book, they‘re all colorful, and they cover a variety of topics such as months in a year, counting, and many different animals. Bonus for me: she giggles every time we make animal sounds, and I swear, it‘s the most beautiful sound in the world. ❤️🤱🏻 #newbiemom

pickI've had a rather slow week for adult reading because I'm teaching pre-k this summer. By the time I get home im so tired from running after little ones all day I can barely keep my eyes open to eat 😣 However, I do read aloud every day to the babies. Yesterday we read Rainbow Fish and discussed the concept of SHARING. They loved it! Such a great story about how sharing can make you feel good inside.

pickI read this to my 6 and 8 yr old daughters. I have mixed feelings about it. The story was entertaing and the writing was good. Calpurnia is a likeable, relatable character. I could have done with less of the gender-role crisis though. I mean come on, it was 1899. pickJust finished reading this to these little cuties. We all loved it. It's about an 11 yr old girl who adopts a cat. I loved the story, but could have done without the talk of "romance" and periods. I edited a lot of that as I read. This book made my girls both LOL and cry! ? And it provided a great opportunity for teaching them to see a situation from a different point of view. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #kiddielit #readalouds
