I am not a woman of convention. I am also very lazy which means that I don't read that much but it is still my favorite thing. /Gryffindor

I cant believe I have not read this book until I was 21. I wish someone gave me this book when I was 13. So I have taken upon myself to give this book to all the 12-15 year olds I know.

jpmcwisemorgan I read it the eighth grade at school. I wonder if it‘s no longer something that‘s read in schools??? 6y
JacqMac @jpmcwisemorgan My kids didn‘t read it in school, like I did. But I bought them a copy when they hit grade 7. It‘s a shame it isn‘t always in school. 6y
arlenefinnigan It really should be compulsory reading in schools. 6y
Daisey @jpmcwisemorgan When I teach 8th grade, we read the play but not the entire diary. 6y
LeahBergen I read this when I was about 12 and I think it's my "most reread" book. ❤️ 6y

I am still not sure what this book is about but it is beautifully written and i just kept reading it for what reason I don‘t know.

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I loved it - beautiful language, fantastic imagery 6y
Cinfhen Is their a mythical creature involved? I need to read a book with that prompt🙄 6y
TheLazyReader @Cinfhen Yes there is but its not really about the creature itself. 6y

This is not the sort of book which tells you what to do, how to be its just about the authors experience with depression which might be close to yours. It is a good book if you feel alone like you are the only one feeling the way you do.

Suet624 I bought several copies of this book to give to friends. Loved it. 6y

This is my first #jamespatterson novel and I am pretty sure it won't be the last, because I already bought the next one. In my defense it was on sale. I read a few #mystery novels before but they never quite grabbed me like this one. If you are fan of #Patterson which books are your favorite and which ones would you recommend a Patterson newbie.

TrishB I still read the Women's Murder Club ones, I would recommend those. 7y
TheLazyReader @TrishB thank you, on my tbr 🙂 7y
minkyb Wow @TrishB I didn't know he was still writing that series. I remember really liking them. 7y

I loved #J.D.Vance s biography which secretly sneaks in political issues. This is one of those books that might make you look at people differently whatever your political views are it is a very interesting read.

I am thinking of getting a tattoo of this quote from the #hillbillyelegy because the same exact thing happened to me. He is a great author not afraid to share the painful part of life.

julesG 😱 Really?! --- great quote, it would make a great tat for sure. 7y

I want to read a great book about vampires, any suggestions???

TrishB 'Salem's Lot is one of my favourites. 7y
MidnightBookGirl For humor and romance, I totally recommend The Jane Jameson series by Molly Harper (starting with Nice Girls Don't Bite Their Neighbors). For scary, I second Salem's Lot. Historical, I love The Historian and Discovery of Witches. YA- The Vampire Academy series was fun. And Christopher Moore's Bite Me and You Suck are seriously hilarious. 7y

The way John Berger talks about Art History is quite different from anything I have read before. The way he links politics and contemporary culture to art was worth reading about.#waysofseeing #johnberger

You can judge this book by its title in this case because it is what it says "Essays on Art", not on a specific work of art rather on different artists sometimes relating to each other on throughout essays. I mostly enjoyed it but it is a slow read although it does not feel like academic writing.

After watching the movie adaptation of this book and falling in love with the movie I bought to book. And I am so glad I have it is so good, the best coming of age book I have read. So brutally honest and beautiful. At the end of the movie it says "For all the girls who have grown." That is all there is to be said.

Reviewsbylola This looks great!! 7y
Cortg I loved the movie...I'll have to read the book low! 7y
TheLazyReader @Cortg You should definitely read it. I am also desperately fallowing Marian Heller who directed the movie to see if she will be directing anything else. It was her first movie can you believe it? 7y
Cortg @TheLazyReader Thanks for the bit o' info, I had no idea 7y

Weaponxgirl I'm left handed so hate handshakes in general, I always end up looking like I'm doing the robot just before I engage in one as my head doesn't want to shake with my right hand 7y
See All 6 Comments
TheLazyReader @Weaponxgirl I am left handed as well and I always try hard to have a strong handshake. I think it is important, it shows how self confident you are. It gets awkward when a weak handshaker doesn't even try, like they have lost their soul in the process. 7y
Weaponxgirl @TheLazyReader that's exactly how I feel though! I've worked in care for years and shaking hands isn't really a fixture of the job so I'm sure my handshake is abysmal. I shall work on it next time I have to do one 7y
TheLazyReader @Weaponxgirl Phoebe Gloeckner wrote "Do it firmly and look directly into other men's eyes thinking to yourself I'm better than you, you son-of-a-bitch" maybe that helps. 7y

Although dull at times, I enjoyed reading this book. If you are interested in how art is essentially an immense part of human history you might want to pick it up. But beware it is academic writing, which might get boring if you are not really interested in the subject.

Although I am not big fan of Shumer's comedy, her writing surprised me in a good way. She was unapologetically honest and hilarious. She has earned a special place in my heart with this book. #thegirlwiththelowerbacktattoo #amyschumer
