First-person narratives are always more “tell” than “show.” This book had so little show, it never created any suspense. Therefore, the “ending with a twist” didn‘t matter because I didn‘t care about a single character. It‘s a fast read, had a fine plot, but as it rolled out in front of me, the story didn‘t grip me. It‘s trying to be Gone Girl, but it‘s a cheap thriller, a summer read, a future Lifetime Original Movie.
