I‘m finally getting to read Verity! This book has been on my TBR for months now. I‘m curious, what were your thoughts on Verity? I‘ve seen a lot of mixed reviews.

This is my second book by Tana French that I‘ve read. I‘m still on the fence. Don‘t get me wrong, it was a good read. But I‘m absorbed into the story line as I normally am. I don‘t feel the characters emotions, I‘m not envisioning the scenery in my head, I don‘t feel like I am a part of the story.
Three words. Christian murder mystery. Umm what?! This book was actually really good. I loved the storyline. The author did such an excellent job of keeping my attention while also bringing God into story without it being too cliche. I usually do not enjoy these short stories. But these 217 pages packed a big punch! 3.5 out of 5 stars for me!
I read so many great reviews on this book. I guess I‘m an odd bird. I did not enjoy this one. Personally I was not captured in the story until the last 200 pages. All in all it was not a bad story. However I was almost done with the book before I began to enjoy what I was reading. I also feel the story ended a bit abruptly. The ending felt “unfinished” and I would have liked to see a happier ending for some of the characters.
Wow! I was hooked from the first page. Just when I thought I figured it out, here comes another plot. I‘ve never read anything by this author before but she is most definitely on my radar for future reads. 10/10 recommend!
I‘m going to be honest, I have mixed feelings about this one. Yes, it was a great story. And I was so happy to see Lily get her happy ending. This could have been a great slow burn love story. However I personally feel the author rushed this one. I also wish more details were given into Atlas‘s past.
I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster Colleen Hoover took me on with this book. I found myself getting angry when Lily was hurt. I found myself feeling happy when Lily and Ryle were doing good. I also found myself feeling proud for breaking the cycle when Lily asked Ryle for a divorce. Such a good read! 5 out of 5! #52bookclub24 (prompt 25: an author everyone has read)
My first book of the year! This is also my first book by Colleen Hoover! I‘ve heard a lot of mixed reviews for this author. Either you love her or hate her. I‘m curious, what is your opinion of Colleen Hoover?
I initially only read this book to break up some of the heavy thriller and dark romance books I‘ve been reading. This story is short, but I actually enjoyed it. I appreciated the time the author took to develop some background between the characters. I typically do not enjoy these short stories as they are predictable, however I enjoyed this short read.
Wow! This my first dark romance book I‘ve ever read. It definitely did not disappoint! I honestly was not expecting it to end on a cliffhanger. Usually I can predict how the end will be, but boy was I wrong! I loved every page of this book. It was both terrifying and fascinating at the same time. 100% worth the hype!
Journey To Forever was an easy read with a predictable storyline.
134 pages in, 317 pages left to go. I‘m hoping this book gets better as the patient continues to receive treatment. However I‘m having a hard time following the story line. I can‘t visualize the scenes unfolding in my mind as I read as I normally do. I do not feel any connection to any of the characters at this point. I‘ve only bailed on 4 books so far in my entire life. I‘m trying hard to finish this one out, but I‘m struggling.
Crossed a few things off my bucket list this weekend!
1. Met my favorite Author (Nicholas Sparks)
2. Got a signed copy of his new book (Dreamland)
* I haven‘t started this book yet. I‘m currently in the middle of 3 different books 😅
I would rate this 3 out of 5 stars. This story takes place during the Great Depression in 1935. Collin Hammett sets off on the road to find the meaning of life. His trip is cut short when he find himself sitting on a couch with no memory of who he is or why he is there.
It was a short read with a happy ending. In my opinion the storyline is very predictable. I did not become very attached to the characters as I normally do.
Is there an app that gives recommendations based on books you previously read and rated? Like Netflix, but for books?
It‘s been 3 years since I‘ve made my last post?! How did that happen?!
I've never read a "self help" book before, but this was pretty good. It was really interesting to read other people's stories too
I can't believe I've been away for so long! Oh how I missed my fellow littens!
You know you are officially moved in and settled for a while when you get your bookshelf the way you want it
Been so stressed out I can't even enjoy reading.. this is going to be a long month
I need some help from my fellow littens. There was book I read about a woman who lost her voice after an airplane accident, she then married this rich older man, and after his death she fleas to her home town but there is a killer on the loose. The killer is a female who cuts people's faces off after they are murdered. I CANT NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER THE AUTHOR OR THE TITLE.. Anyone read a book like this? I need some help!
Already in chapter 6 and I'm definitely liking this book so far!
WOW! I honestly expected this book to end in a tragedy. It was such a good read from page 1 all the way to page 305. I think I may have discovered the next aurthor for me.
Going to finish my last 80 pages and eat my oatmeal 😁 Who knows I may start another book tonight
I just learned there were hookers and prostitutes in 1859.. Who knew🤷🤔
Just started this book about ah hour and a half ago and I'm already hooked! I already feel myself getting all emotional over 2 characters 🤦😭. I honestly did not expect to like this book, much less this EARLY on in the read. P.S. yes I'm eating Chef Boyardee Beefaroni with cheese (I'm a weird eater)
I'm definitely not saying that I understand life and everything in a wonderful ray of sunshine and rainbows now. I will however say that I was definitely struggling with the death of someone very close to me as well. And just like Kate, I also blamed myself. I definitely feel that the reading of this book was in perfect timing to my healing and grief process... "God's timing is perfect"
1 word: AMAZING! This was the book that made Nicholas Sparks my FAVORITE author. Loved this book ❤️
I'm going to be honest, I didn't finish the book. It did not hold my interest in the slightest. I actually read a chapter 3 times and still have no idea what was going on.
