I can‘t believe it‘s that time of year again! What should the #hashtagbrigade read next year? We read chapter a day, and we can spread any book over a couple months, so don‘t be afraid to nominate a longer book. I‘ll hold the nominations for a couple weeks, and then open up the voting.

BarkingMadRead Thank you for sharing!! 3w

I feel like I‘m not the right audience for this book. A lot of very specific law history that felt too dry. I would recommend it, but it would have to be the right person.

TieDyeDude If you are interested in constitutional law and the Supreme Court, I always recommend the podcast We the People from the National Constitution Center. They can get deep in the weeds sometimes, but the host is pretty good about summarizing various points in plain terms or asking panelists for clarification. 3w
bio_chem06 I listen to it sometimes, but yes it can also be a little long and dry. 3w

President Joe Biden chose the first Black Woman to sit on the highest bench in America: Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. This memoir tells the story of all that came before this extraordinary moment. She shares with us the story of her grandparents, parents, her education, her marriage, her children, her values; what it means for her to sit on this bench and all that it took for her to get there.

A moving, inspiring life story of a brilliant woman. I‘m so glad I listened to the audiobook and heard not only her voice reading it but also her daughters Leila and Talia. Highly recommended.

The library world experienced a victory yesterday when the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted a temporary restraining order to block President Trump‘s dismantling of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The decision was issued in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Library Association and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. https://bit.ly/43d0olu

Bookwomble Yeah, 'cos it's all those people who know things that are the threat to making America great again! (🤔 Oh, wait, yes that's right. You can see why MAGA might object to a knowledgeable electorate.) 6mo

I absolutely love this book. It took me a little bit to get through because life was life-ing, but it was worth it. I love how unapologetically Judge Brown Jackson is about her about her family her decisions just overall she stands 10 toes down and it is very evident in this book. Great read!

????? Named "Ketanji Onyika," meaning "Lovely One," based on a suggestion from her aunt, a Peace Corps worker stationed in West Africa, Justice Jackson learned from her educator parents to take pride in her heritage since birth. She describes her resolve as a young girl to honor this legacy and realize her dreams: from hearing stories of her grandparents and parents.

TheBookHippie I read this the day it came out! It‘s so good. 💛💛💛💛💛💛 11mo
