Pip‘s life and expectations are improved by a visit from Mr Jaggers and some new pecuniary arrangements, but where did the #moneymoneymoney come from?
As far as I can tell from Abebooks this edition was printed in 1880 - I can‘t remember buying it so I can‘t have paid very much #moneymoneymoney either!
What do you do when you have loads of #moneymoneymoney? Spend it on drink, dope, sex, fast food, and love. If you're John Self, that is.
I know nothing about this book that @Reviewsbylola gifted me, but love these Penguin editions. Is this worth moving up my tbr???
It‘s 1948 in the Jim Crow south and racism is rampant. Atlanta has finally given in and hired eight black cops, but they are not allowed to drive cruisers or enter the police station. It becomes clear that the unethical white cops will do anything for #moneymoneymoney, and no one on the force is a fan of changing the status quo. Mixed in is the death of a young black woman. This book was AMAZING and will make you feel sick. #abbainaugust
I‘m about 100 pages in to this book and had to stop reading because other books are getting priority but I can‘t wait to finish it. I had no idea that there was this class of Asians with so much money! How did I not know this? I find it fascinating and compelling to read about their lifestyle - they spend like crazy and yet are frugal at the same time.
Working on Wall Street is all about the #moneymoneymoney. But what do you do, when all your “hard work” ends in financial disaster, and affects entire countries and the people in them? This is something Jende Jonga ponders while driving the Edwards family around. 💸
Not a book for everyone- but I do love me some 'rich white people problems' in the summer.... This book is as if 'fates and furies' and 'the affair' had a baby... Gorgeous prose, unlikeable yet complex and compelling characters, and endlessly quotable lines... I could have underlined something on every page. 💕
