Another fun murder mystery from the Grand Dame Agatha Christie. I wasn't certain who-dun-it, but I had my suspicions and I was correct. If I learned anything from trying The Mysterious Affair at Styles on audio, it is that I need to actually read these books to help keep the people straight. Sure, I needed a cheat sheet early on to help me remember who each person was in relation to the others, but it all came together for me ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick about 1/3 of the way into it. Hercule Poirot is smart with a bit of jaded sass that I find quite enjoyable. I can't say this gave me a good sense of place within Egypt since we're on a boat and all, but it was an interesting journey down the Nile.

Cinfhen You‘re doing such an AWESOME job with the #Pantone22 matches 🙌🏻 2y
Cinfhen And all your other challenges too 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 2y
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I can't imagine listening to Christie (or any mystery, really!) on audio! I would get lost sooo fast! 2y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Cinfhen Thanks! Not gonna lie...I may have swatches saved on my phone and open my art app to make collages and check for matches. 😁 2y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @TheAromaofBooks Christie on audio wasn't one of my finest ideas, but we live and we learn! 🤣 2y
Clwojick Great match! 2y

I love a good witch goddess story just as much as the next reader, but this one just left me flat. #Unpopularopinion I know. But I didn‘t like Circe, thought the story only plodded along, and struggled to finish this one. Made me sad, b/c I loved The Song of Achilles with my whole heart.

Emily92Bibliophile Have you read this one yet? A good Witch story 2y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Emily92Bibliophile I have heard good things and bought it on ebook sale recently! Thanks. 💕 2y
Ruthiella I totally agree with you! I loved The Song of Achilles but though Circe was boring. Oh well. 2y

Cinfhen It took me awhile to get into this book and in the end I liked it / but not nearly as much as Song of Achilles 2y
Cinfhen @Emily92Bibliophile your book sounds GREAT!! And I see I‘ve already stacked it 🤩 2y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Yes, same. Although I never really loved it. @Ruthiella Yaass. Glad to know I‘m not alone. 2y
alisiakae I loved this one, but read it before Song if Achilles. I wonder if I would have felt differently if I read SoA first. 2y
Emily92Bibliophile @Barbara @Cinfhen it‘s wonderful! There is not much Norse Mythology that is told from the female perspective and this one is 👍🏻 I loved Cerci but I understand how some readers don‘t like it. 🤷‍♀️Not a witch but Ariadne is superb. (edited) 2y
Emily92Bibliophile @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen other Greek retellings that are superb: The Silence of the Girls, Till we Have Faces, A Thousand Ships, and Cassandra Speaks ( semi retelling) 2y
Cinfhen I read Ariadne, A Thousand Ships & Silence of the Girls & LOVED them all @Emily92Bibliophile I‘ll have to look for the other two you mentioned. I‘m also hoping to read 2y
Cinfhen And I just read and loved this one but it‘s very loosely based on Greek mythology 2y
Emily92Bibliophile @Cinfhen those are so good! I‘m glad you read them! I have Daughters of Sparta and the Women of Troy as my next reads 💙 2y
