Another little gem of a shop today. In an area famous for lobster and crab - found Mr K an old cookbook on how to prepare both with very 70‘s style step by step photos. He‘s chuffed!

squirrelbrain Lovely! ❤️ 9mo
Leftcoastzen I think I‘d love it! 9mo

Hey friends! I'm alive! Traveling for work this week (hello Louisville, KY) and I made my way over to a local bookshop. An entire table celebrating Women's History Month! I got a little reading in and drove around quite a bit, with no touristy things done yet, and I leave early Saturday. Oh well... there's always next time.

I loved this style of signage seen throughout the store.

bthegood Love the sign - if you like baseball and have time there is a tour you could take

enjoy your stay and safe travels 🙂

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @bthegood Thanks for the rec! I love baseball but this trip is so jam packed I won't get over there. I'll be in town (hopefully) a couple more times this year for work and plan to bring my guy out for a long weekend to do the touristy things. I am hoping that I can make it over to the OVW office today to touch base with an account set up by my predecessor while simultaneously trying not to fangirl about their wrestling history. 😁 13mo

Book Moon Books | Easthampton, MA (Bookstore)

Very busy work week in Western Massachusetts but I did find a little time to visit a few bookstores.

Top stack from Odyssey Books in South Hadley. Right by Mount Holyoke, they sell merch for the college & highlight books from school professors & alumni. A good selection of popular books & a bookcase dedicated to translated works.

Bottom stack from Book Moon in Easthampton. Small store, large variety, with a special section for Small Beer ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Press books, such as the bottom two. Located in a cute downtown area with hip little stores. This was my favorite.

I also visited Booklink Booksellers at Thornes Marketplace in Northampton. This had the most popular selection, some sale books, and I finally bought a physical copy of The Prisoner of Heaven by CRZ because I have it on audio CD & borrowed an ebook from the library. It's time I owned a copy.

TheBookHippie Oh dear, the letter I sent you got mailed back to me because I forgot to put your apartment number. I am so sorry I will resend it had your valentine in it. Oops. 14mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @TheBookHippie No worries! It'll just be a random surprise. My building has 22 apt and a few ground floor businesses. Everyone's mail ends up in our lobby. They could've just left it there like everything else & it would've found its way. 14mo

We discovered a really cute #independentbookstore today while out 🧶 shopping.

vivastory Have you used one of the bean bags for print books before? Looks like it'd be handy for e-readers, but curious how it'd be for paperbacks/hardbacks.... 1y
Soubhiville I have a bean bag and I love it, especially for heavy hardcovers and I use it with my kindle too. 1y
MaleficentBookDragon @vivastory no; this is the first time I‘ve seen one of these. I bought it for my kindle. I do use my #bookbeau #bookbean for hardcovers (and as a pillow). 1y

SheReadsAndWrites Im curious about the book...🤓 1y
MaleficentBookDragon @SheReadsAndWrites me too. I had never heard of it. It just jumped out to me. #goodreads doesn‘t have it coming out until Tuesday. I guess it was meant to be. 1y
SheReadsAndWrites I am eager to see what you think! It looks interesting. 🤓 1y
Gissy I‘m curious too for those bean bags. First time I see them😳🤷🏽‍♀️🤗 1y

Pickpick

Harriet is a young woman with a small fortune. A mental disability makes her an easy target for the handsome and unscrupulous Lewis Oman. After winning Harriet's love, Lewis, along with his brother and mistress, sets in motion a cruel plan to get his hands on her money.

A very good, shocking story, not in the least because it is based on a true one from 1877

JenniferP I‘ve read all my Persephones! Maybe I‘ll put some more on my birthday wish list - this sounds great! 1y
AshleyHoss820 Sounds good!! Love the picture, as usual! ☺️ 1y
BarbaraBB @LeahBergen I‘d have liked to read this with you but my challenges decided otherwise 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ 1y
BarbaraBB @JenniferP they are always such a comfort to read. Every couple of years I allow myself to buy six of them, of which Persephone sends me one a month: it feels like a gift when another arrives! 1y
Cinfhen This does sound interesting!!! Perfect for GREED 😊Also love the photo 😘 1y
squirrelbrain This sounds so good! 1y
Cathythoughts Sounds like another good one. Stacked. 1y
BarbaraBB @Cinfhen Greed indeed! 1y
JenniferP @BarbaraBB I did this a few years back, but I believe they stopped this service to the U.S. Sad! 1y

thewallflower0707 Love Persephone Books, I visited their bookstore in 2019, before they had to move. Did you get the chance to read A Town Called Solace yet? 1y
BarbaraBB @thewallflower0707 That is so cool, that you‘ve been there. I‘d love to go to Bath one day to visit their new shop. I haven‘t read your book yet, but I will soon! I will keep you posted! Am looking forward to it! 1y
BarbaraBB @JenniferP That is sad indeed. It is hard to Netherlands too these days, thanks to Brexit. 1y
thewallflower0707 @BarbaraBB that‘s great! It was nicely decorated too, and right around the corner from Gay‘s the Word, a beautiful LGBTQ bookstore with lots of history. Shame they had to move. 1y
BarbaraBB @thewallflower0707 Absolutely. That sounds great. But I want to visit Bath one day anyhow, so much history there! 1y
